Seemed like on many throws Wimsatt was placing it where it would be his guy or incomplete. Savvy football.

It did. There was a lot of observable progress. The next step is going to be working in the short game which was Gavin’s Achilles heel last season. He completed his only attempt to a RB that went for a big play and was reasonably accurate on the throws to tight ends. All seemed to be design plays though. If Kirk can develop him to the point where bubble routes and edge passes are worked into the regular A,B, C scheme plans we will make legit progress even against better teams. We finally seem to have the position players to pick up those back end yards. When you can convert those, it really opens up the running game.

The perfect TV analyst for the TD pass to the corner.

I can’t imagine having a play you made in your 1st college game being the #1 play on ESPN Sportscenter. He deserved it with that catch, high level play on a big stage. Then to make the catch on the tipped pass was icing on the cake. Wow!

Playing Army- Navy was nice in the past but we gain nothing if we win and we look like a horses *** if we lose.

Army would be a non-cupcake but not Top 25 OOC game. And West Point in Mid-October can be special. And a loss would not be as disastrous as losing to a MAC team

No more home and home… I was going to Army and Princeton and Rutgers games home and away back in the late 50’s. I don’t need to look at trees, military parades and the Hudson River. I love games at HOME . I served in the military so I have more respect for them than most people today.

I have no problem playing Army and Navy and Air Force occasionally. Notre Dinero and LSU and Boise State have them on their schedules this year. One OOC team I’d love to schedule is K.C. Keeler’s Sam Houston State. I’ve always been fascinated with Keeler’s success and lack of love from the college football community.

Notre Dame has always played them . Always seemed the old guard at ND liked the days gone by. How many times has LSU and Boise State played the Navy, , Army or the Falcons in the past 50 years? I’ll wait… no where near how many times Rutgers has.

Awesome catch.

Now why were two quasi jump balls later thrown to Long and Dremel??? Keep throwing the jump ball fades to Strong till we see otherwise!

The one to Dremel was so head scratching. A 5'8" Dremel is out of bounds on that corner fade, a 6'3" Strong would have been a touchdown on that perfectly thrown ball. You rarely if ever see teams throw that to their shortest receiver. KC did Wimsatt no favors on that player alignment.
