If we win this weekend, we have a chance to be #1 in maybe one or even two polls. Assuming that happens...

The following week FSU plays Notre Dame (current #6 but would be number 5 if we knock off Auburn). If FSU, wins they likely retain or take back #1. If ND wins, voters would have to decide between us and Notre 17ing Dame for #1. I have a pretty good idea who they'd pick in that scenario but hope they would forget it is ND and look at the schedule.

Thoughts?

Agreed. From here on out every game is the most important in Mississippi State history.

next game is massive.

You'd have to think if both MS team wins this week, you would jump FSU and potentially Ole Miss would as well. I feel like the AP is waiting for us to give them a good reason to drop FSU. Each of our seasons to that point would be much more impressive than FSU or ND. If we both continue to win I don't see how both of us don't sit 1-2 to the Egg Bowl. What an epic matchup that would be, with Gameday back in town.
