The investigators kept saying they “miscalculated” the fuel due to the one engine running richer than it was supposed to.

Well that thing must have absolutely gobbling fuel, because they were waaaaay off. And they glided past a highway they could have landed on. Definitely amateur hour that night.

I remember seeing the 9:30 news blurb for the 10:00 news during the commercial break on WDAM when they mentioned: A plane carrying Lynyrd Skynyrd has crashed in southwest Mississippi around McComb.

WDAM is where I saw the news that night too. I remember my mom asked my 15 year old self who they were

I’ve been to memorial site. It’s cool but also kind of strange. Seems like there was a caretaker there just sitting in a jeep. Felt a little off.
