He was the main QB in Bellard's first year and had an outstanding game in the win overTennessee in Memphis. He was as good a drop back passer as we have ever had. The only problem was that Emory Bellard ran the wishbone offense, and a freshman named John Bond arrived in 1980 who fit Bellard's offense to a T--thus relegating Tony Black to holder on extra points and field goals. The John Bond years were my favorite as a Bulldog fan. I'll never forget the four wins in a row over LSU.</p>
