Who would have ever thought
1) That would be the last victory over Arkansas for 10 years. (MSU 22 - Arkansas 21 Nov. 21, 1998)
2) MSU would be the first SEC school to hire an African American football coach
3) Ron Polk would be fired
4) MSU would invest in one of the biggest jumbotrons in the world at the time.
5) Rick Stansbury would be as successful as he has been
6) Larry Templeton would be fired
7) Jackie Sherril would actually comeback to bite us in the ***.
8) MSU football would revert back to its usual losing ways
9) At one point we were the only school to reach the CWS, NCAA Basketball Tourney, and play in a bowl game.
10) MSU would run through 4 different people at President in less than a year. (Foglesong, Watson, Ruby, Keenum)

I'm not really that surprised that our football team went back to their losing ways. I'm also not that surprised that JWS came back to bite us in the *** either. We always seemed to be unstable despite our success, and we were never disciplined under JWS. His tenure was always like a timebomb that would either blow up into a 8 win season or a three win season.

At the time, I hoped that JWS would be hired away by Alabama so that we could bring in someone up and coming while our program was in good shape. Oh well.
