100 ejections in NCHSAA so far this year?!?

Already 100 ejections in NCHSAA sports this year. 23 of those in football in just 2 weeks. That's seems like a lot. Is there still a rule where if you have a certain amount of ejections in a season you're disqualified from the playoffs? I was thinking it used to be 2 or 3 in football?

That’s not a good trend for sure but I need some help here. What sports are these occurring in?
It only lists football for one week at 23 and for numbers sake assuming they may ejected the same amount the 2nd week that’s 46. What other sports are played in the fall to make up the other 56 ejections or whatever the number is? At Pisgah, we only have men’s soccer and fall baseball besides the sports mentioned, and I don’t think Fall baseball is sanctioned.

Likely would be 1000 ejections if they used the same standards from 40 years ago. I doubt they even had certain offense's that would be eligible for ejection. Kids are not being disciplined enough and get by with WAY too much.

The need to just SHUT UP AND PLAY. The coaches could be more judicious in handing out justice. Set down for a half and see if these behaviors don't improve. If it cost a win the players will enforce the code.

I could be wrong so don't take as gospel. But I think the nchsaa got neutered from team punishment maybe even personal to an extent. That was the whole reason state got involved, I believe a team was expelled from playoffs because of to many kids ejected. And local representative went to nchsaa about reversing ruling. But was upheld and that representative started legislation to start stripping nchsaa of powers. Anson county maybe

Yes, but the article specifically says, “There were no ejections in volleyball, cross country, girls tennis or golf.” That’s why I’m asking what else is left for all the ejections?

That’s was my thinking. There aren’t many other sports left so one of them must be “off the chain” crazy. A sport that has fighting and cussing like a Saturday Night at an Irish Pub.

Forest Hills was ejected from the football playoffs 6 years ago after a brawl at the end of a game. We had a terrible coach at the time who let FH football go to crap for his entire time here. I think everything boiled over that game. Not sure of the inside details. Video is on YouTube. We didn't deserve the playoffs with that coach anyhow. He was canned shortly after. Game was against Legion Academy.

More than likely..... ejections in soccer can occur with accumulation of (2) yellows in a game as well. So in theory, no misconduct but simply catching (2) cards to equal an ejection.

Kind of disagree with the "shut up and play". Obviously you shouldn't be cussing out the refs and that should be penalized but what happened to a little trash talk on the field. It's a mans game with plenty of testosterone flowing. Again, not saying you should cuss someone out but if you pancake block a d-lineman, big stop on 4th down, big hit to cause turnoff, etc. please tell me you wouldn't talk a little crap to him?! I'm sure most of the people on this board have said worse to the old person that accidently pulled out in front of you and went too slow. I will agree that a racial slur should never be tolerated.

I’d say the trash talk is allowed it is jusr probably far quicker to cross boundaries than it used to be. I know I was one of the biggest trash talkers on my teams when I played (and did cross some lines!) and regularly used it to get the team fired up but some of the personal attacks and language used by some teens now I wouldn’t have said to a dog that just bit me.

A principal I know said the incidents she used to see rearing their heads in high school were now being dealt with in 4th and 5th grades. And from the signs of the kids currently showing up in my wife’s early elementary grades, it’s going to get much worse.
