Wilmington gets off the ball hard and fast, very well coached team. Eic has some serious work to do to offset this physically tough team. Coach Reents is a hall of fame coach. Should be a great game
My prediction, Wilmington players and fans HATE private schools. That includes IC, B-Mac, AC, Newman etc. Tonight's loss to IC will further cement this hatred.
I also predict the place will be crawling with Wilmo fans. They travel better than any other 3A school I've seen. Very loyal. Very passionate. Will make for a great atmosphere.

Unlike another I8 "fan" I know, Wilmo doesn't care and will play whomever is in front of them, regardless of class size, multiplier, non-boundary, private, whatever. Class act all the way.
Agree. And that is why I think this game will be competitive. No running clock. Wilmo kids don't get clocked. They have too much toughness and pride.
Interesting as I have heard a lot of grumbling from that way this week about the open enrollment disadvantage..
All private school powers knocked out early of did not make the playoffs this year. No need to even bring this up this year.

Mixed feelings for sure. On one hand it would have been so sweet to beat those guys. On the other hand, you are completely out matched physically at just about every position...simply too much to handle.
IC beat StLaurence who's in the 6A semifinals, this team doesn't belong in 3a IMHO but that's where the IHSA put them so congrats to the Knights.

That is probably true. I wasn't there but Wilmington is not used to getting completely taken apart like that. Probably not easy for the majority of fans to digest. Good luck to IC. I'd expect 2 more very easy wins and a title.
Maybe it's s 1 year run, but IC is much more than a one man crew. Weapons and speed all over, the QB is a beast and only a junior.
I'm ask for a mea culpa on my post and delete it. I shouldn't have classified a whole fan base just from heat of the moment stuff, it happens everywhere. Wilmington fans are very passionate and show great support for their community. They have hard working athletes, and just a random baseball plug, had an amazing state title team when Roark and Longest where pitching back in the early 2000s.
Wilmington coach is a complete class act, kids are extremely tough. Physical and tough.

Weaver from Wilmington is a complete stud....ran hard and broke tackles. One of the best rbs in the state at any level. Wilmington fans love the game and their kids. High school football at its best tonight in Elmhurst.
