11 man teams vs 8 man teams

Can someone please tell me how these games work? Do they both play 8 man? Do they both play 11 man? Is it 8 vs 11? Lol. Seriously, how do they play?

I didn’t realize any of these teams played each other. I just assumed they only played in separate divisions entirely. If they allowed 8v11, losing to a team with 3 less players would be incredibly humbling.

Last week, Hobgood Charter (8 man) played at 2A NW Halifax, and this week Triangle Math and Science, 2A, plays at Hobgood Charter, and 1A Washington County plays at John Paul II Catholic (8 man). I only know of these games because they are somewhat local. There may be more.

In past years I have seen teams looking for games and saying they could play an 8 man game or an eleven man game. If it’s 8 man, both teams play 8 man. Eleven man team just has more subs.
