Not sure I understand that. Has teams likeWest Virginia, Illinois, Seton Hall, andGonzaga in front of us. Has Vandy and Creightonas a 4 seed but us as a 7? Not really sure that makes sense to me. Creighton has losses to St. Joes and Missouri St. Our losses are Akron who is the frontrunner to win the MAC, Baylor who is currently projected as a 1 seed, and @ Arkansas.

our "dumpster fire" failure at some point this season IMO. If the tourney started tomorrow, no way we're worse than a 5.

One thing I'm largely concerned about is playing on the road. We have only one true road win all season thusfar, which was the close game at Detroit. This team hasn't faced many true road tests yet...

2 years ago, he missed 3 of the 4 "Last 4 in" and his seedings were all over the place compared to what the really ended up being. His really good "record" is that he can get 63 or 64 of 65 teams in and the percentages look really good, but there are a lot of folks on here who could probably put up similar numbers if they did that job. <div>

We need to win ALL of our remaining home games... the only exception POSSIBLY being Kentucky... and that's if they don't lose some before we play them. This includes beating LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, UGA, and Arkansas.<div>
</div><div>We also need to focus on beating Ole Miss, Auburn, and USCe on the road. Auburn and USCe are already out of the top 100 in RPI and Ole Miss (if they can't win games) could fall into that category, as well. With Akron, Baylor, and Arkansas doing well, This could eliminate a "Bad Loss" on our resume... a HUGE boost if we are on the bubble or when it comes to seeding.</div><div>
</div><div>Lastly, we need to worry about grabbing AT LEAST 1 win here... @Vandy, @UF, @LSU, @Bama. These are assured to be top 100, if not top 50 RPI road wins.</div><div>
</div><div>The thing I guess I'm worried about is losing games we SHOULDN'T lose. We have some quality wins already, but those few quality wins can easily be erased by a few bad losses on the road. </div>

South Carolina are must wins. And, all 3 of those are going to be close, difficult games.

look at these projections bc, overall, they're useless, but aren't they put out weekly? If so, wouldn't it make since for him to project on performances up to that point, and not factor in future games. If so, it's a joke to have us at 7, verifying my thoughts that this is useless info.

We need to worry about just making the tournament at this point. That ranking can go away real fast, especially when you are about to play two tough games on the road and you have no offensive identity at all.

Because how will "our" speculating on the tournament affect whether or not "we" get in?

Don't confuse our leading scorer going through a mid-season slump as us having no offensive identity.

I was just saying don't count your chickens before they hatch. By no offensive identity, I meant we have no guidance or foundation on our offense, which makes it hard for us to keep leads at the end of games. I am saying that if you have been a State fan as long as I have and know much about basketball and have watched this team's last few games, counting us in the tournament already is a little ridiculous. Until our coaching staff can get something going offensively, we are an average team that plays above average defense. And our defense is not nearly as good as most people on here think it is.

I ran/walked a suicide...well half a suicide so I won't catch myself looking ahead and worrying about our next game. I will be in game mode come Wednesday!!!

of the epic meltdown it would take for this team to miss the tourney.

There is too much talent and too much cohesiveness on this team. Even Fat boy is hustling now and hasn't made a frowny face in the past 3 games. He has also become our biggest cheerleader.
