after it was clear Game 3 would not be played. He did pitch the last inning and gave up 4 runs (only 1 earned) but certainly our best chance to win the game today would have been to use Whitney as much as we could. Don't understand him not pitching the 8th.

Maybe we should have let Whitney work the last couple of innings of game 2, and then the first 3-4 of game 3... just keep him loose during the 20 min break between games.

(Not that it matters, he would have probably gotten rocked too.)

even if there had been a game 3 then it would have only been a 7 inning affair. I guess looking at the bright side, no MSU fan can say we overpitched Whitney this weekend (and that's a big, big plus).</p>
