Our players fought their hearts out tonight & we should have won the 17ing game. Blake Shapen is the only qb we’ve got that ready to play at this level. But you just CAN NOT make the 2 mistakes he made when we’re in fg range with 30 seconds remaining. Inexcusable.

agreed on all points, but this is just squarely on Lebby.....and he had developed some good will with the fan base, and I just think he lost all of that today

I could’ve lived with us just missing a FG at the end of the game to lose. Wouldn’t have been the first time.

Getting yourself into makeable FG range and then not even getting to attempt it… that’s just atrocious situational football and symptomatic of a program that hasn’t figured out how to win under this coach.

Tonight makes me question how exactly we pulled off the 2 minute drill against ASU so well, was it just lucky?

The play call that lost us the game is not a play call that an intelligent head coach goes with there.

ASU blew a coverage with no safety help. The pass& catch was easy. Speaking of boneheaded coaches calls at the end of a game.

My sentiments exactly. A missed FG would’ve stung much less than losing due to ignorance.

Yeah. This is a run call all dayl. If FL doesn’t use a TO then you spike it with less than 5 seconds left. Attempt a field goal… if you miss it then that sucks; if you make it then you are celebrating all the way back to Starkville.

Play calls are based on probabilities, and I’m not convinced that throwing it in that situation has a high probability of a positive outcome.

The frustrating thing is I think we all see the potential with this group. They play hard and are capable of big plays, which is not something that’s super common for us. It was right there to be won today and also against Tennessee. So you can talk yourself into us having a chance in some of these remaining games. Heck, freaking Texas is trying their best to lose to Kentucky right now.

But then we all have that experienced MSU fandom in us that just wonders what we will do next to mess it up for ourselves.

Heck, you don’t even have to risk a fumble in the run. Just bleed the clock down before you call the time out.

Today was the first time in any Lebby SEC game where I felt like we had the better/less dysfunctional team. And we blew our chance.
Florida secondary is green as they come. Lagway is worse than Shapen. Many Florida fans are pissed they won this game and might have to keep Billy around now.

But we have several players who appear to be as dumb as rocks. How many times have they screwed us with the most stupid penalties possible, and at the worst times?

Yep. "When you throw a forward pass three things can happen, and two of them are bad."

Him being Lebbys “guy” is even more concerning
If the other 2 were better they would be playing. Obviously they are not. They won't even let KT throw a pass which is concerning.
Why did we use the last time out when we did
That made me mad. You should ALWAYS save your final timeout until the last play/critical moment of a close game. Turns out it didn't matter.
