Telling people to look a it a particular way is assuming that those who you're engaging with never looked at it in the way you're asking of them. Truth is, a few years ago, this board was pro SEC chest bumping. I remember seeing a lot of people using that same argument to question if some people were sane that didn't care about the SEC winning as much as they have been. Now, people are not only jumping off that train but they're trying to derail it. I actually have to agree with them.
I won't go as far to say that the prestige of the SEC doesn't help us in terms of recruiting because it does. But particular teams winning the championship... again and again... doesn't help us at all in the long run. As has been stated a few times, we already lose recruits to LSU, Auburn and Bama without them winning championships as it is. Them winning more only widens that gap even more. What helps us is if we beat these teams and with the traction they've built, that's not happening on a consistent basis in the foreseeable future. With that said, I may not root against all of the SEC if the championships were spread around and the teams playing for it were not Auburn or Ole Miss... definitely Auburn.
