I mean, I get people who root for a particular SEC team wants the conference to look good as a whole, and thus it attracts more recruits and money to the conference, and hopefully to their respective school. But the way I look at it is MSU has enough problems as it is. Having another team in the conference excel more often than not, or any,doesn't help the smaller schools like MSU much, if at all.

If you've been to our last two bowl games, nearly the whole crowd was chanting "SEC SEC SEC" at the end of the game. I tried to override it with "MSU MSU" chants, but I was way out numbered.
I'm a Mississippi State fan. We just so happen to play in the SEC. 17 everybody else.

they got swept by East Carolina and split with Kansas and Minnesota. They beat an overrated Miami team that shouldn't have hosted and then had to beat UCF to get to a SR.
Now they are playing a LSU team that got their annual cupcake of a regional. A SEC team should sweep Stony Brook in a Super Regional.
Stony Brook is a good team and worthy of a regional, but they are not worthy of Omaha.

SB can pull it off tomorrow as far as I'm concerned!

After all, we did not face South Carolina or Florida in the tourney and we went 1-5 against them during regular season.
LSU was regular season champ, which certainly means more in seeding and hosting, but they have not played well down the stretch here.

But the NCAA's are definately what matters. I'll still enjoy the SEC Tournament championship though.
