Piss poor call. Contact was minor, and like someone else said, the receiver made virtually zero effort to get back to the ball. Just as a defender isn’t penalized for a ball being thrown 20 yards out of bounds, they shouldn’t be penalized for a horribly under thrown ball unless contact is excessive

I know that is the rule but it is stupid when the player does not even try to come back for the ball.
