I noticed that Gruden had negatives to say on almost every other player taken, but thought Fletcher was a great pick. Meanwhile the dubmass Kiper decides to discuss his 1st game suspension and slow start. What a tool.

Had Bobbie Massie rated higher. I don't think I've heard one other person mention Massie in the 1st

Maybe because the wonderlick doesn't have anything to do with covering people. But they showed a 3 minute highlight video of Mo's screwups

I'd love to see what he had to say about all the other infamous busts.

that Russell would be a bust who'd last no more than 3 years and then he'd waste the money he earned on things like purple drank.

* Not even remotely true

Kiper tells it like he sees it. If you don't like his judgement that's fine but he will know every player in this draft and will have studied film on every one. Sure, his opinions aren't always right but at least he knows something about everyone one of these guys. And he does it without a notes. He knows what he knows. When you see everyone else just look at each other in the later rounds and go "Who?" Mel steps up and talks for three minutes straight to at least tell you something. Sure it's wrong sometimes but drafting players is a crap shoot.

Oh, and yes, he can be a tool.

if we made it our full-time job. Same goes for most of the college recruiting analysts. What they're best at is self-promotion, not coaching or evaluating players.

There was no need to reiterate Cox was suspended for the Memphis game. Obviously there was not a serious character issue related to the suspension since he was the second DT taken. And the Chiefs are idiots for taking Dontari Poe, but they were looking for a true NT so Cox wasn't a good fit. It's completely unnecessaryto make those kind of comments right as someone is drafted, let the fans/family enjoythe moment.
Also Kiper has been outed as someone who talks up certain players for certain agentswhile talking down other players. I'm not saying anything bad about Bobbie Massie but I'd like to see who is his agent because Kiper has been pushing him hard for a while. I just don't see Massie as a first rounder at RT.

But no matter how much film he studies, he's no more qualified to evaluate players than you or I are. He's never played the game. He's never coached the game. Here's a pretty good summary of just how much of an expert he is. It's pretty obvious this guy really just doesn't like Kiper, but what he writes is the truth.

If he had said "he had 50-something tackles despite only playing in 11 regular season games" he could have gotten his shot in their and not come off as a tool but he literally paused and said "VIOLATION OF TEAM RULES".

And as far as Gruden goes, I know most Saints fans hate him but I really like the guy. Him and Jaws seem like the only 2 guys on ESPN I could see myself having a conversation with. Pissed Jaws won't be on MNF anymore.
