Templeton Hardy back to D-line because I think he will be happier and therefore more productive as a player than as an o-lineman.

Tay Bowser to WR because he sucks as a DB other than the one INT he had in the 07 Egg Bowl, which was pure luck. Plus, he's 6'3", and we could have used his size at WR- another Croom head scratcher.

Not really a position change, but a modification- have Marcus Green line up as a FB and a TE.

Wade Bonner back to DB.

Maybe KJ Wright to DE. I could certainly see him staying at LB

Ditto on Karlin Brown.

I know this would be a kinda crazy idea, but what if we ran a 3-4 this year? I think that would be perfect for guys like Nick Bell and Shane McCardell to switch them from DE to OLB to get them on the field because they are gonna be pretty decent players. Our DT position is a weak point, and with Pernell and Fletcher at DE, I almost think we could pull it off. Let Kyle Love and Josh Boyd switch out at NT. I like Shane and Nick at the OLB in a 3-4. They both remind me of what Titus looked like when we recruited him before we converted him to a DE. With us being so deep at LB we could keep Karlin and KJ in the middle with Chaney and Chris White. I do agree that Wade needs to change. Also I would like to see Arceto go back to corner and play the other CB across from Langston.

Yeah, having a stout NT was the only part of that equation that I thought we might have a problem with. We definately have the linebacker depth. I agree, I dont think we will run a 3-4. But since we have 1 graduating linebacker after this year, and we will have a year of working out on Boyd, McPhee, and Fletcher, it may not be a horrible idea to think about a few years down the road.

Karlin Brown is nothing more than a special teamer. Period. Safety is our deepest and most loaded position. Charles Mitchell is a lock to start at one S spot and the other will almost certainly be occupied by Zach Smith, Cam Lawrence, or Dennis Thames. And regardless of who starts, we'll probably rotate all 4 like we did with DP/Fitzhugh/Glanton/Mitchell this past season. Karlin is a guy that plays with a lot of heart, but physically doesn't have the goods to play anything other than special teams in this league. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, because I think he'd be hell on wheels as a special teams player. You can always use those guys on punt and kick coverage. Jackie's coverage teams made a living off of guys like Karlin. Guys that played with a mean streak, flew to the ball, and hit with bad intentions when they got there. We need a few guys like that on our special teams, and Karlin can provide that. But there's no way he's cracking the S or LB depth chart for actual defensive snaps.

I think K. Brown will see the field somewhere - he's got too much speed and natural instinct to play only special teams. Safety may be his best fit - maybe he plays a hybrid safety/linebacker position. And plus, we only have 2 safeties returning that have experience, so I'd hate to depend on true freshmen as our primary backups regardless of how good they may end up being one day.

I've also thought we may see Stallworth move to WR. He is actually our top returning receiver other than McRae and proved he had decent hands last year. We've got more than enough depth at RB so we shouldn't miss him there. And I can also see some of our DEs moving to LB, but they probably won't see the field much considering we should have decent depth at LB.

is the best that we have with experience, and unless Smith learns how to come up and make a solid tackle he is useless. Lawrence and Thames are freshmen with Thames being true. That is a position to be concerned with if you are an MSU fan.

We should see Bonner back at safetly also. I dont think it is very a deep position at all. But to be honest i dont see Karlin making a decent safetly after going back and watching film on him. He may be gone by next spring, we find a few gone so we can sign 25, I think mullen will want 25 of his own players than only signing 19 and keeping the Karlin browns of the team
