were by far our best we've had. maybe i just think that because we were good in em but they still looked good in jackie's last few years when we sucked. in some way the athletic department pony up the cash so we can pay to at least get those helmets back with the nike owned logo. the helmets are what ruins our new unis

was the fact that those NIKE uniforms had a nice blend of traditional MSU- maroon jerseys, white pants, and maroon helmets with a white facemask with the interlocking MSU logo, but at the same time, they were very modern looking with the MISS. STATE font and the way the font of the interlocking MSU looked. The numbers were nice to because they kind of reminded me a little bit of the 1994 49ers throw-back jerserys, which is my personal favorite football uniform of all time, so that Nike uniforms also had some nostalgia attached with them to.

Let's just face it- it was a damn good looking uniform.

I like the current uniforms that we have to- they have many of the same qualities that the Nike ones did. I don't care for the M-State logo, but if we must have it, at least we have made it look like an athletic logo and not a academic logo like we're trying to be Vandy, Rice, or Duke- in other words, we don't care about football because we're smarter than you. Adidas has done something that I never thought was possible- they made an all-maroon uniform with a M-State logo that looks good. I honestly don't have very many, if any complaints about what we're wearing. They have the right shade of maroon, and the uniform is very modern looking. I like the all-maroon helmet to. They've also added silver to the uniform which I think makes it look sharp, and the black jerseys are different- I do think that it would be better with black pants, and I think they are going to do that per unconfirmed rumor.

I just really liked those gray pants. It was just something different. I've been looking for a picture but can't find one.

i agree about this years unis. and i believe what i like so much about the ones from the 90's is the fact that they were modern looking but still had a classic look. and i never thought about the similarity to the 49ers unis but that is very true. but if we start winning in our current unis i'm sure they'll grow on me as well but nothing will beat the older ones.

I remember I first saw the white jerseys in the C-L a week or two before the season and thought, we may not be worth a **** but we'll damn well look like the best team in the conference. Then we started 6-1 with wins over Syracuse and Tennessee and were ranked #13. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there for Rockey though.</p>

I would love to come out with a throw back uni this year....silver pants with two maroon stripes with a white stripe between the two maroon....maroon tops with Miss. State accross the chest.

I was at State from 1985 - 1989 and there's nothing I want to remember about football from those years.

They were pretty cool...but too trendy, too '80s, too stripey, too Michigan Panthers vs. Memphis Showboats.

One of the reasons I'm partial to Georgia's unis is the silver pants.
I remember being at the '88 Bama game when Tony Shell threw a couple of bombs (at least one for a TD, maybe 2) and a Bama fan looked at me when MSU took the field and said, "Yall's uniforms are awesome." 'Thought for a second or two that we were gonna win that one especially when we closed it to 40-34 after a long TD throw.
