Most of you probably don’t remember, but the 1990 seasons was a pivotal era for TO and Nebraska football, 3 of the last 4 games we got beat by at least two touchdowns , that’s when TO decided to change his defensive scheme starting in 1992. In today’s world would TO survived with a season like that? How many of you Rhule haters be calling for TO to get fired? Be honest. And no I’m not at all happy with the results of this season! We need to get dudes get talent on both sides of the ball

Dude...come on.

You are probably one of the fans that hated Bo and wanted him gone...but now you are defending and jocking up Rhule?

How did the 1921 season end?

Did Osborne hire 3 defensive coordinators in 4 years? Did he hire 2 offensive coordinators in 3 years? Did he hire 2 special teams coordinators in 3 years?

Osborne seems like he was able to hire quality coaches more of than not. Rhule has not shown to be capable of that so far.

Some fans keep acting like Rhule was stuck with the science teacher and SPED teacher on his staff.

HE HIRED THESE DORKS

Good points.

Also, TO was putting in 16-18 days during the season. Rhule isn't doing that, not even close. It's evident in the lack of prep, timeouts, inability to adjust.

Yeah, look, I am not a Rhule fan but college coaches and firemen and female elementary teachers have done an amazing job tricking "the public" into thinking they are all working these insane 18 hour days.

They are not.

College football is a lot different than the days of The Big 8. Even a lot different than the days of the Big 12.

TO wouldn’t last in today’s college football world. Fanbases want coaches fired after 2-3 years. Even pre-internet I remember fans saying TO could never win ‘The Big One’. I remember Nebraska Fans older than me saying TO should be fired because he couldn’t beat OU before he did in 1978.

While this is true...the "Big One" now, is making the playoffs, soon to be 16 teams (and probably 32 someday).

TO, from what I can remember, would have been in that playoff picture more often than not.

I just don’t think in today’s world that player development is a thing. I think you have to have grade A talent. You may get a kid or two who develop but they don’t get to practice as much. Lot less pad time.

I will tell you this, if Rhule put up 17 straight seasons of 9+ wins, like TO did prior to 1990… no, I wouldn’t call for him to be fired

Why do people keep trying to compare coach Osborne to the coaching failures we've had? Rhule has no business being compared to one of the best coaches in history.
I’m not, I’m pointing out that in today’s world and TO was coaching you’d all want him fired for losing the last 3 of 4 games with being blown out by George tech.

So like people did when that happened? Still doesn't change the fact the Rhule is nowhere near the coach Dr Osborne was. Rhule has failed. An average team wins 10 games with our schedule. We won 7...

If you think it takes dudes and not coaching, explain the past years of Nebraska recruiting better dudes than Iowa and Minnesota, and yet they have beaten us had to head nearly every time?

Big Ten Recruiting Rankings (10-Year Averages)

• Nebraska
• Big Ten Average Rank: 7.4 (consistently Top‑10 in the conference)
• National Average Rank: 25.2 (Top‑25 nationally)
• Performance: Despite strong recruiting, their 5-year winning percentage is just 39%, making them the league’s biggest underachiever relative to talent.

• Iowa
• Big Ten Average Rank: 9.6
• National Average Rank: 33.0
• Performance: With a 5-year win rate of 68%, Iowa has significantly outperformed its recruiting position.

• Minnesota
• Big Ten Average Rank: 13.0
• National Average Rank: 43.4
• Performance: Over the past five years, Minnesota has maintained a solid 59% winning rate, outperforming their mid-tier recruiting ranking.

For decades, Nebraska fans by-and-large had no idea what we had.

Knowing then what we know now, no one would be looking to see TO fired. He'd have a lifetime contract.
