1. Sussex Central ( The facility sits in the middle of the school campus)
2. Sussex Central ( The field has always been well cared, very good drainage
5. Sussex Central ( Fans love their Tigers but always are hospitable to guest)
7. Sussex Central ( The Band Rocks ask Riverheads fans )
9. Sussex Central ( Parking is available throughout the campus all on pavement)

The only one I know for sure is Lancaster has the best band.

1. Best Stadium facility? Middlesex
2. Best Playing surface (field)? Hands down Middlesex. Last year they were recognized as the best kept facilities in the country of all schools of all classifications. Only gone to a VA school 6 times and all have been class 5 &6 schools.
3. Best Announcer in the press box? No clue if he's still around but I have always thought spider man from Surry.
4. Friendliest School staff and AD? Northampton
5. Best and most respectful fans? I don't have a strong opinion with this one so I'll say West Point in jest after the last few weeks on here.
6. Best Cheerleaders? Northumberland
7. Best Band? Charles City-small but mighty, always a good show.
8. Best Concession Stand? West Point? Old bay on french fries
9. Best Parking? Rappahannock/Luray- You can literally park on the grass right off the endzones.
10. Best Overall Football experience? Sussex- Loud field house, boisterous and passionate fans.

Middlesex has the best stadium facility, followed maybe by Northumberland.

Best playing surface - Middlesex and then Essex. Essex's facilities are poor but field is always great.

W&L often serves some great food. Sometimes they even serve delicious crabcakes (lump crap meat)!

Best announcer- CB's was great last time I was there.

Best Band - Lancaster, then Northumberland and Rappahannock.

Best Parking - Probably Northumberland.

I'd have to think about the overall experience...Rappahannock is fun for pep band and tailgating right on the field behind endzones.

For me, this is too many categories to get into and of course most of them are just opinions anyway. But the one category where I CAN give a real shout out is the Stonewall Jackson (Quicksburg) concession stand. They have everything you can think of and sometimes you can see something new you have never seen before. One of our fans (not sure if he reads this board or not) has a reputation for single-handedly keeping everyone's concession stand in business and he REALLY likes that one.

Also, and I don't think they are 1-A anymore, but I remember once being impressed by the James River (Buchanan) concession stand. They had $6.00 baked potatoes one night with all kinds of stuff on them. I didn't try one but the Riverheads folks gobbled them up that night because they were such a novelty.

I would say Msex for the field? Dont pay any attention to the bands or cheerleaders. Concessions I would say Sussex, they serve fresh fried fish! The announcer at last weeks Charles City game was wide open. The guy at CB did a great job too. The parking at Lancaster is always simple. Best fans, WP of course! I've always liked the atmosphere at Sussex

5. Best and most respectful fans? NO CLUE, can think of several disrespectful fan bases. So maybe Northampton, Windsor, Charles City, or Washington & Lee are the most respectful. Maybe I just have something for blue and gold/yellow.
6. Best Cheerleaders? NO CLUE ABOUT NOW but when I was in school playing Charles City was always a treat
7. Best Band? Lancaster
8. Best Concession Stand? Sussex Central and Surry is always pretty good
9. Best Parking? Essex
10. Best Overall Football experience? 1. Sussex Central 2. Essex 3. Franklin 4. Colonial Beach

I haven't been to enough 1A games to form an opinion on most of these things. I remember being blown away by Surry's band though. It was at least 15 years ago at a Smithfield game, but they were as good as a lot of college bands.
