Riverheads, Chilhowie, and Galax have all the votes. No one has picked any upsets in these Region title games.

Region A has the only game that "may" go either way - according to posters.

Essex has 11 votes - Northumberland has 5 votes.

Hey last time the picks were like 30 to 1 Essex (NHS won 27-16 after being down 8-0).

Will the Indians continue their Cinderella run? Or will the powerhouse prevail?

(for the old timers, think of NC State's run with ole Jimmy V, back in the early 80's, exciting upset after upset).

Essex wins because of weather conditions but I hope the Indians pull out

Weather does not look favorable for the Indians.

It will be interesting to see how Coach Lewis plays it.

Thoughts on how bad weather may impact game?

Does anyone know why the game was moved from Friday at 2 pm (perfect weather yesterday btw) to Saturday (a day that all forecasters were calling for a major rain event)? I would think NHS would want dry conditions to take advantage of their air game? My understanding is that it’s the home team’s decision to move the game because of weather, not for bad weather. Just curious.

If I am not mistaken, someone mentioned that region A always plays their championship on Saturday. I would think they might have wanted better weather over tradition but good on them for sticking to their guns. Now hopefully the weather doesn’t effect the outcome. Good luck to both

Always look for the positives in any situation -

There are a few positives that the rain may have for NHS, but more for Essex I would guess.

(but you never know, maybe the Indians catch a break with some extra turnovers...) The Indian D has been forcing a lot of turnovers - they bend but don't break...

I would think you play all year for home field you should get the most out of it and play when best benefits your team and I don’t think it’s NHS tradition and don’t think coach Casto if given a choice would not play next Saturday he play Friday

Region A Championship is normally always on Saturday. Not sure weather willbenefit either team. Essex will not be able to cut running their DW. They have the size and power to physically dominate Nmbld, which is a one man team. If Essex tries to run around them instead of over them, they will likely lose. Nmbld needs to make the best of what they have this year. Good luck to both. Unfortunately I dont think either has a defsne capable of winning next week. Hope Im wrong as I would love to see someone upset RH
