1a Soccer

As soccer season is closing in, any thoughts on the season? How are some teams from around the state going to look this year?

I have heard that Galax and Radford are already hard at work. Galax hasn't put down the ball since last season ended...those kids play every single day. Radford is claiming to be much improved. GW started workouts last week I believe...no idea on what to expect from them. I'm sure Perry McClure will be solid, but the same system as always. That's about all I have on the West 1A right now.

Riverheads has a player who has signed his LOI with Virginia Tech, just saw in the paper this week. They should have a good team again this year

Very Nice. Should make for a very fun few games in their schedule!

Auburn is working hard. Returning most starters and excited to get the season started. Good luck to all and hope everyone stays healthy and we get some good weather!

Looks like George Wythe will be heading to Floyd today. I have heard that this year Floyd will make a little noise...this from people in Floyd, so I don't put too much stock in it. However, no one would be happier than me to see the Buffalo shakeup the Three Rivers District.

Also in Three Rivers (2a though) Giles and James River will face off today as well. James River ranges from really good to pretty darn good and Giles is always decent. Hoping that turns out to be a good game as well.

SEASONS IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Giles and JR ended in 1-1 tie after regulation and 2 ot's. Very physical match between the two teams, officials let a lot go. Jr then took down Bath on the following night and dropped Glenvar on sat at Glenvar, JR should be strong in the west but not sure how they will compare with the soccer powers from the east.
