You can dispute the order, but these are the 6. I'm honestly not sure the Holmes win over Northeastern wasn't more impressive than the East Surry win over Reidsville. I don't think anyone saw that one coming.
Those that pay attention wouldnt be surprised. The aces played Northeastern tough last year. Score was 30-14 but was close throughout with Edenton jumping out to a 14-0 lead when NE was blowing teams out by 6 and 7 touchdowns. It is considered a rival game mainly to the fact that Edenton like Tarboro was 2A and had some success in the playoffs. In Edentons case they knocked off Northeastern 35-21 in the 2016 2A playoffs to secure a spot in the 2A East final. Thats still fresh in mind with the coaches.I'm not giving Northeastern a pass here, but let's not undermine the Edenton program either when it comes to 2A. All in all I think the narrative that 1A contenders couldn't hang with 2A contenders is a horse that is dead and buried.
To me I'm more impressed with the cardinals win. Most teams in this area are intimidated playing Reidsville because of their success year after year and they don't schedule 1a teams. If Reidsville was having a down year it would be different but they are one of the favorites to repeat. I'm not sure when they've lost a regular season game at home and never to a 1a school.
Lol way to sneak the SMC in there. Once again there is a lot of excitement in 1A and the SMC is left out once again. Hahaha.

Well, I could have left Robbinsville out. I just looked to see how off I was and MaxPrep has them at 4 also.
Tarboro -until proven different
Reidsville should not be docked for losing to a 1A because the caliber of that 1A team is on par with anyone in the state 2A and period! Reidsville won the 2A title last year and are supposedly better this season, the cards are just playing at another level this season.
From the sounds of it Wallace and Reidsville May be on a crash course of their own what a hell of a game that should be !!
I wouldnt be so fast to count out Northeastern either. That crash course for WRH will come first.
No one knows anything about the records of those Georga & Tennessee teams that The SMC plays in nonconference and then when conference play starts then we know more. I am sure Murphy, Swain, and Robbinsville will be right in the thick of things as they always are.
Watch the Cardinals this year and you’ll see very fast that this is not completely unwarranted. While I do believe they still have to beat Tarboro on that final Saturday in December to be number 1 they did just beat the number 1 reigning 2A champions and have looked damn near flawless!
You know they will, they always are. 1 of the top 1a/ 1aa teams will come from the smc. And those smc teams would beat most 2a( not 2aa, and not Shelby) teams.
Reidsville bounces back and wins 2A State Championship. They have a lot ti prove now !
That's nice and all, but can this kid find that dime while on his back, or while running for his hisl life? Because that's what'll happen vs Tarboro.
Last season East Surry wasted too many downs trying to run the ball against Tarboro. Running the ball is wasting a down against that team. However the defense plays man coverage the entire time and seemed to get lost and confused on more complex route combos. If Reidsville didn’t get this unstoppable pressure I’m not sure why your so convinced Tarboro will. The defenses for both Reidsville and East Surry I’ve been very good all season long but it’s almost impossible to stop that many athletes making plays.
What makes you think East Surry is so much better on offense that they can actually score an offensive touchdown on Tarboro this year?
