MSU at Vandy and MSU at Arkansas. Not worth the aggravation of watching anymore. From what I read on here I gather Stansbury had no clue how to handle the press, the refs sucked, and the RAT went off. Sounds about right.

Anderson will turn Arkansas into a national powerhouse in the near future. He is the one guy I did not want to see at Arkansas.

Until tonight.First time I've ever turned off any MSU game before it was over in my 7 years as a fan. I said 17 this with 8 minutes left and watched the Saints. You pretty much summed it up. We looked unprepared, the refs did a terrible job, and we just could never get momentum. It seemed like every basket we got, Arkansas would answer with a basket and a turnover. Worst overall performance by MSU guards I've seen since I've been an MSU fan. Perimeter defense was pitiful. You give up 98 points and it pretty much speaks for itself.

I had really hoped he wouldn't get the job at Arkansas. Anderson is just a damn good coach. He did good things at UAB, he did some great things at Mizzou, and I have a feeling in 4 or 5 years he will have them in the Top 3 or 4 in the SEC. That style of play is going to cause some problems for a lot of SEC teams.

That MSU at Vandy game only takes place every other year. But yes I see your point, that one is always frustrating.

I question the notion that Arkansas is "on the rise". I saw a lot of poor play on our part tonight...and they took advantage of it. We'll see what they are really about as they get deeper in the schedule.

Well our team is mostly freshmen and sophomores...i think because of that we will be inconsistent this year but we are talented. Anderson so far is 10 times what pelphrey was though. Next year with everyone back and our best player powell healthy we should be pretty damn tough IMO

We always play well at home...beat kentucky there last year and we were bad. Istill think you guys are a good team and you should beat us in starkville unless weshoot that well again lol...it's basketball

That is why I turned the game off early. It is so frustrating. I read a quote from stans last week saying that we struggled against the press last year because we didn't have enough people who could dribble through it. What? Please watch the elite teams and tell me how many of them try to dribble through a press. That and the fact that we refuse to ever attempt any sort of screen to get open on an in-bounds play make me sick. I love that his teams play good D most of the time, and we have great athletes that can play great at times, but we always seem to struggle with the fundamental parts of the game.

There's no leadership. Not from the coach and not on the floor. There's no one associated with the program who demands excellence. There's no heart. There's absolutely no mental toughness anywhere.

I hope Rodney Hood can become the heart and soul guy on the floor at some point. He has the smarts to be that guy. But to expect mental toughness out of the coach is asking too much. He is incapable of it.

Just kidding.

No heart, no pride, no character on the part of the Dogs yesterday. It is what it is - a relatively uncoached bunch of recruits. Flashes of brilliance subdued by lack of fundamentals. Unprepared from time to time with an almost universal llack of in-game adjustments. Wash, rinse, repeat. State will fare better when a young Hog team visits the Hump. State does well this year, but loses at least four more games they shouldn't, and it bites 'Em in the arse come tournament time. It will never, ever change with RS at the helm.
