2 questions: Don't we face UK's Ace? If we beat him, will we host?

If UK's ace threw in Saturday's game, then he would be going on only 4 days rest. I am not sure what they will do, but personally, I would not start my ace when I am likely already hosting a regional and this game isn't an elimination game in the tournament. 4 days rest is a pretty quick turnaround when you are used to 6 days rest. I would think they would throw him Friday on the same rest that Stratton had.

but the likely scenario is probably just 4 SEC hosts... 3 as national seeds (USCe, LSU, and UF). UK will more than likely host. Arkansas probably lost their spot with their 2 and done, but I still think they are more likely to host than we are, unfortunately.

Arkansas and State had a very slim shot at hosting heading into the tournament. Arkansas has no chance now. State's is still not very good. Rogers stated after today's game that State had no shot at hosting fwiw

</div><div>They are at 16 currently and we are at 20.</div><div>
</div><div>If we beat them tomorrow, LSU beats them Friday, and we beat LSU Saturday, that might be enough. It would obviously help to win the tournament Sunday.</div><div>
</div><div>All of that might still not be enough, but it would be very close.</div><div>
</div><div>For what it's worth, if we do barely squeak into hosting as the last host, we'll probably be matched up with the #1 national seed, while if we're a strong #2, we may be put in a bracket that gives us a better shot of reaching Omaha. Or, that could all be incorrect -- the committee doesn't do things so exactly. It's food for thought though. I would still rather host, but getting a 2 seed in the Purdue regional matched up with Oregon in the supers is a much easier road to Omaha than having to go through Florida State.</div>
