It’s Thursday let’s talk Rutgers…..

What a great opportunity to play a P5 team for your exhibition game. While Rutgers was not a good team last season, they were 12-20. Nonetheless they are miles better than what we normally get in an exhibition game.

They return all 5starters and 2 other players who played significant minutes. Kaylene Smilke a 6’0 guard avg 18ppg. Cornwell C averaged 10&9, Sidibe G averaged right at 10 ppg.

Part of their difficulties last season was that they only had an 8 player roster and in a number of games they lost steam in the second half. The roster issues have been addressed with 3 freshman, none in the top but worthy of a P5 scholarship. Also they added 2 portal players Mya Petticord a backup G at A&M, and Destiny Adams backup Post at UNC. Not superstars but should make good contributions, especially Adams.

They have good overall size but tallest player is 6’4”. Not a very good shooting team but Smilke is a scorer and shot a good 36% from 3. Had a lot of DQs from fouls but that was probably an issue of depth. Not a a strong rebounding team and average on D

Should be a 25-30 point win and maybe competitive for a quarter or a little more. We will none the less get a much better read on our team’s development than from previous exhibition games

true...no reserved seating so.......get there early and be quick on your feet...doors probably open an hour early....just guessing
