I think these 15 teams are likely to be named as potential regional sites:

Arizona
Arkansas
Charlotte
East Carolina
Florida
Mississippi State
Notre Dame
Ole Miss
Oregon
Stanford
TCU
Tennessee
Texas
Texas Tech
Vanderbilt

I think these 10 teams are hoping to be among the 20 potential sites:

Fairfield
Florida State
Indiana State
Louisiana Tech
Louisville
Oklahoma State
Old Dominion
Pittsburgh
South Carolina
Southern Miss

Who are your 20?

You can definitely cross Fairfield off of that list. Most projections have them as like 3 seed don't they? No way they make one of the top 20 sites.

Their stadium seats 350 so I doubt it’s going to happen.

I think Ole Miss makes the Top 20 but it’s probably close. I don’t think they’re a lock at all. Lost 5 of their last 6 series. They may make this initial cut but they better win at least one of these last two series or they will be traveling. And Bianco has never won a road Regional. Did win one Super in Lafayette, but that’s it.

I’ll go with Quincy’s 15 plus Pitt, LA Tech, USM, Florida State, and Louisville.

Your 15 + FSU, LA Tech, USM, Pitt, Indiana, and Louisville. Just a guess.

I thought Indiana too but read earlier today that they didn’t bid.

I think USM and Ole Miss is an either/or thing. Not sure I can see them putting three Regionals in Mississippi.

You can strike off any location in a state that thinks girls sorts shouldn't be played by men.

Maybe I should have said uneducated guess. Sub Indiana St. then? Good point about 3 regionals in MS. That would be a first.

Could we have 3 host sites in the State of MS? Southern Miss made a huge statement over the weekend and are ranked #20. It would be great to see this happen.

I think Pittsburgh is going to be a near lock to host unless they fall apart. Just makes too much sense to get a regional in the Northeast through their bid.

The NCAA would love to put 2-seed UM in a Hattiesburg regional paired with us.

I think USM and Ole Miss is an either/or thing. Not sure I can see them putting three Regionals in Mississippi.

They swept a pretty bad MTSU team. Not sure what kind of statement that makes. I think USM will be a #2 seed.

They are right on the hosting bubble. Need to finish strong but if they win C-USA or the C-USA tourney I bet they host.

And I don’t want any part of them in our Regional. They have an excellent pitching staff. If their bats get hot it would not shock me to see them in Omaha. Stanley-Powell-Etheridge is a very, very good three man rotation that could carry them a long way.

30 shutout innings during the 4 games

USM pitching continues to improve. USM is not 20-7 in CUSA. Guess you would like to play them in our regional???

You know, I got to thinking about this.. and I agree that Ole Miss is no lock to host this year. You can’t lose 5 of 6 series and assume you’ll host. So, IF we do host, that will put us in the 13-16 range. And we all agree MSU is likely headed towards a top 4 national seed. So... I can 100% see the committee setting that up for a Super Regional rematch in Starkville, if both teams advanced. Which would be dicey for Ole Miss with no Hoglund and no bullpen, but still.

I wouldn’t put either of them hosting at this second. They are both in that 16-20 range where they have work to do. Ole Miss has a better opportunity with Vandy and Georgia to get back into the 15-16 seed, but we all know they will blow it. Even if USM swept Florida Atlantic i’m not sure if they get in. I agree the committee will take one or the other if they take either.

With that said, I hope USM gets to host and they put Ole Miss in the Hub City as a 2. USM fans wouldn’t know how to deal with it and they would ultimately **** the bed. It would be a weekend of shitting the bed with both of those programs in the same city.
