10. BAC Mono
The BAC Mono brings the Batmobile to mind right from the get-go. From the engineering minds of Briggs Automotive Company, the Mono is a single-seat, street-legal racing car that first hit the market in 2011. Powered by a 2.3 liter four-cylinder engine, the Mono can hit a top speed of 170 miles per hour, and go from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. With a price tag of more than $186,000, this street racer is going to be out of reach for most car enthusiasts. However, for Formula 1-type thrills in a legal street racer, the Mono is one car that is hard to overlook.

Thanks, that's some nice rides on that list

0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds is amazingly fast
Talk about pinning you in the seat.

Lots of really expensive cars on that list as well

It wasn't that long ago that companies bragged about their cars going 0-60 in 6 seconds. My wife and I both drive sub 5 second cars and they seem pretty fast. Couldn't imagine driving one that is twice as fast as those, but would gladly give it a try.

I think the average vehicle on the road is about 9-10 sec 0-60 time. My wife's Altima is clocked at about 6.5 sec which is pretty darn quick for a mid-sized sedan cheaper grocery getter.

I want to preface this by saying there is an insanely massive gap between my neighbor's finances and my own. But...my neighbor owns both #2 and #7. He also either owns or owned the Bugatti on that list. He "races" in 0-60 time trials.

He and his wife tend to keep to themselves and like their privacy but good people, self-made.

The Nissan GT-R is an unbelievable amount of performance for the price, when you compare it to the others.

I saw a Caterham once and want one so bad I can't stand it. Virtually no electronic aids at all, not even ABS on the one I saw. The only drawback would be needing 2 tubs of Country Crock to be able to cram my lard butt into it. It makes a Miata look spacious.

An affordable one to watch that will likely compete with the Nissan GTR coming in 2017 will be the Hyundai Genesis as rumors are spreading they will twin turbo the V8 Genesis in the coupe and make it AWD, could become a monster...
