I had forgotten about the free throw incident at the end of regulation. Credit to the front page of SPS for the Cristil call at the end of overtime.</p>

both of which were great games I actually got to attend and those games were 2 of the best wins I've ever seen from an MSU basketball team.

Cuz thats what one of the announcers said after he hit the leaner from the line at the end of regulation.

Ive never actually seen this game on video. I was there(still the best game ive ever been to by far) and didnt record it or anything. Thanks for the link!

As a guard for MSU in the mid-70s, he's always been a State homer. But I don't ever remember Bowers being any All-American discussions.</p>

He wasnt in any.

Whats funny is that we actually did have an All American candidate on that team. Heck he finished 3rd in POY voting.

I have this game on tape but the power went out with 35 seconds to go in regulation and didn't come back on until overtime started so I had never seen the last 35 seconds of regulation until now. Tim Brando, why don't you whine some more about the free throw situation? He sounded like David Kellum.

I worked the kitchen at the Cotton District Deli back in 2004. That was my last semester of high school. It was just me and the radio for the second half and overtime. Needless to say, I didn't get much done that day. Thanks for posting this. I closed my eyes when Cristil's call came on. Gets me every time.<div>
</div><div>Man, f*ck this year's team. There isn't a guy out there now with half the heart of Timmy Bowers.</div>

But it's changed hands a few times, so I doubt it's quite the same. The cajun beef was good, as was the "chubble" and pretty much anything on hawaiian bread. I enjoyed experimenting with different combinations when things were slow.

i may be wrong but i would say we have some higher ranked recruits now. i don't remember timmy or frazier or vincent being big recruits. but good gosh they had more heart than the "talent" we have now.

I was sitting in front of a middle aged Alabama fan, his son, and a middle aged MSU fan. The Alabama fan was giving the MSU fan hell the whole time. Right after we won the MSU fan says, "We're number 1!" This infuriates the Alabama fan, and I was pretty sure that a fight was soon to come. Things calmed down after a few seconds. I just shook hands with the Alabama fan and said that was a good game.

tl;dr - Alabama fans are ******** who can give but can't take.
