I know we squeaked out a HOME game especially due to Norwood, but do you consider the UM vs. UF game this past weekend a bigger upset? Considering now we understand the sheer ineptitude of Croom and Co.(proven over last 5 years.) I don't seem to remember their 2004 ranking coming in, don't think they were.

I say MSU vs. UF was still bigger upset despite Zook being mediocre coach, take em over Croom anyday. Think about it.

we went well on our way to a 3-9 season after losing to Maine. Florida finished 7-5 I think and unranked. They were 21st at the time.

Ole Miss beat the #3 ranked team at their place. Florida's defense had given up 10, 3, and 6 points in their first 3 games. Ole Miss scored 31. And they have already tied our win total from 2004.

You might want to change your username.

The dirty rebs have themselves a coach AND a quarterback. The 2 most important parts to a successful team and they have them both. We have neither and didn't back in 2004. But at least we're doing things the right way.

I am giving credit to where credit is due jackasses. My subject matter of discussion was the biggest upset! Ole Miss has a damn good football team with a damn good coach, thusly I expected them to play well there. I am pretty sure there all time record there is 6-6. So I thought they had a very good chance at winning and they did. Look at our record in 2004 as Dawgstudent so CLEARLY pointed out. To me that defines upset, a weak team beating a ranked opponent that they have no business beating.

Thx, I'll keep my username. Porkchop, funny you chime in, can't tell you how many times I've read your **** *** posts.

SEC games, had just lost to Vandy, and was playing the #3 ranked team at their house with the Heisman winner as their QB.

Secondly, UF had lost one game at home with Urban Meyer. They were 21-1 before Saturday.

I really think he believes this.

More than anything, the fact that this win was on the road, against an undefeated FL team, with Urban Meyer as the head coach, is there anything else that really needs to be said.

I gave us no shot to win the game this past saturday. I wouldn't be surprised to see FL in the national championship race before the season ends, especially if they end up in Atlanta, which I think they will.

State had just lost to Maine and I thought there was no way in hell we could win.

But playing at home versus on the road are two completely different animals which is one reason why I think the Ole Miss game wins in a landslide.

How many SEC games had we dropped before we beat them in 2004? Didn't we go winless in the SEC in 2003? So weren't we right there too? Granted, they were ranked lower, we were at home, etc, but I thought we pretty much had them tied if not beaten on the "winless in the SEC" streak thing.

UM's win this weekend MAY be the first of many indicators that the Gators are not what everyone expected this year. It is entirely possible that Florida loses 3 more games this year and doesn't sniff Atlanta. Or they may win out. Either way, this comparison will not be valid until all of the games are played.

Didnt Ole Miss's victory seem like a total fluke? It was just one of those days where they didn't do anything that great just every break went their way. Dont think the two games are comparable.

but really when did MSU really have home field advantage??? uhhhhh.... late 90's??

Some comparative points, and I will leave it at that...

1. Both MSU and UM had first year coaches in their upsets.
2. Talent left behind after resignation/firing- Absolute domination of 2008 UM vs. 2004 MSU. Not even close.

If Florida finishes the season with 4 or 5 losses and out of the top 25, you might be right, however, if they finish with 1 or 2 losses and in a BCS bowl, you're dead wrong.

I personally don't think Ole Miss will win another game.

We have a lot to be excited about after the way we fought against LSU (who is a much better team than Florida.)

Another - are you shitting me? And that's for both statements but moreso for the first.

I forgot that OM has LA-Monroe, so I do think they will win that one.

About us, again no bull ****. We have a lot to be excited about and played great against an excellent team.

the poster is a spawn of your greed. on a serious note, wonder what the spread was in that MSU-UF game. that would give some objective (if not scientific) measure of which was the greater upset.

Correction: I meant to say I don't think they will lose that one (LaMo) but I do think they will lose all of the others.

I laughed at that for a while, but then I laughed really harder when I realized you typed duBMass rather than duMBass..... I don't know if that is a board joke I am unaware of or if it is just that ironic that you just did that.... Either way, that was funny.

I agree that you guys did show some positives this weekend and are a better team than you have shown up to this point.... but to say that OM will not win another game is insulting. We still play South Carolina, Arkansas, LA-Monroe, and the mighty MSU Bulldogs in addition to Bama, Auburn, and LSU who are likely to beat us (though you guys gave them a run this weekend). Hell, you could be right, but that is downright insulting considering we are about 2 plays away from 5-0. That being said, you are entitled to your own opinion. Opinion noted.

I just thought it was making fun of general mispellings, not anyone in particular - as opposed to 19.83%, which will forever be McClurian math. -- and I saw he recently posted without getting a 19.83% reply.

Wasn't it the guy that was talking ACT smack? I thought that was the irony of the situation...he was trying to make himself look smarter than the rest of the board by reporting that he made a 24 on the English portion (not a great accomplishment by any stretch of the imagination) and subsequently misspelled dumbass. I could be making all that up though.

I am not sure we can judge this game so soon either. Also, I don't want to brag too much just because of the 82.334% chance that we lay a giant <17>ing egg this coming weekend against South Carolina. It is just the way we do things at Ole Miss. I honestly didn't believe we would beat Florida until they measured Tebow's run. Call me negative, but I think years of letdowns have me programmed.
