Just saw this year's rankings. SP #1 Mad Cent. #4 and West Jones #6.
Read the Rivals Top 100 the othe day, it had three MS teams, SP #5 mad Cent #57 and West Jones #70
So who has a more accurate rating for the top 3 in MS CL = SP Meridian West Point Rivals = SP Mad Cent West Jones

And will be just as strong as the '08 championship team. Defense will be better than '08. Mad Central is overrated again like every year since that '99 team(think that was the year they were so good)but will lose to OB and SP again and West Point deserves the hype i think

as others on here I'm sure, but it seems to me like there is a real gap between the good teams and the bad teams.

West Point seems to have come out of no where a little but, the South Panolas, Meridians, West Jones, Wayne Countys, Olive Branches, and Madison Centrals always seem to be at the top. That doesn't seem to be the way HS football should work.

They lost almost everybody from last year's team. I live in Madison and always hope the Jags do well, but they've benefited for years from a district that is worse than dogshit. And their out of district schedules lately have been embarrassingly pathetic. They'll finish 1st or 2nd in their district again this year (how could they not). But no way they even make it to the semi-finals. Which is probably good for them. Because if they thought last year's South Panola beatdown was bad, it would be nothing compared to what this year's would be.

and everything to do with Wayne County moving down in class from 5A (the new 6A) to 4A (the new 5A). Wayne County will be down this year and West Jones returns virtually everybody except their OL. If the new linemen can get the job done, they'll get to Jackson this fall. If they can't, look for Picayune or Moss Point to be there. Early indications from their scrimmage against Laurel are that they're better than last year's 11-1 team.</p>

is the only team in the state that could stay within single digits of South Panola. West Point will cruise in 5A North, and beat whomever comes out of the South by two TDs.

and be considered the No. 4 team in the state. This is Clinton's year to overtake Region 2. Madison Central will probably still finish second in the district, but the Southaven/Olive Branch loser will beat them in the first round of the playoffs.

If MC somehow wins Region 2, they'll lose to the Southaven/Olive Branch winner in the second round of the playoffs.

5A and 6A are already decided. Meridian has an outside shot at 6A if they catch South Panola in a bad game. West Point has no challengers in 5A. West Jones or Picayune will make it to Jackson in my opinion, but neither will be able to hang with West Point.

Opponents include Noxubee County, Meridian, West Point, South Panola, Southaven, Olive Branch and the rest of Region 1-6A. Is there a tougher schedule in the state?

they've always had talent, and I remember when them, Neshoba or Louisville would be in the mix for the 4A title every year. I think they just sort of "fell back" for a few years in the 90s. They always look the part.

West Point won three straight titles in the late 80s, then had a drop off in the 90s for some reason. Someone closer to that program can probably tell us why. I have a feeling that West Point has just started a long run in 5A. They may not win every game, but I think they should be in the mix in the next 3-4 years for the state championship,
