I'm from the same county as Wilder, but he is definately no Julio, as much as I hate to admit it (and as much as I love O'Neal, I hate Julio)

I think his performance at the combine will be more important than just about any other player in the draft. If he runs a good 40, I could see him in the mid 1st round. If he pulls a Derrick Pegues, I could see him falling to the 3rd or 4th round. For the record, I don't think he's nearly as slow as mdm209 does. He had a lot of 20+ yard runs this year and a few of 50+. Slow backs don't get those runs.

I should not have said he is slow, but relative to potential 1st round-potenial rbs, he is not among the speediest. And yes, those long runs that he has had this year will definatley help him. But I just don't see his combine 40 time helping him very much

But I think he's fast enough. Tom Rathman wasn't the fastest back in the world, but he had a hell of an NFL career. I could very easily see Dixon being a Rathman type back. Good powerful runner, kind of decent speed, and good hands. A lot of teams will want that combination.

Wow Tom Rathman

Good comparison.

I hope AD makes the same impac that Rathman made

But for some reason, Rathman just popped into my mind tonight as a back Dixon could be comparable to.

will both be ranked 10-15 among their respective positions...

Therefore my predictions:

Chaney- 4th round, 127th pick, New Orleans Saints

Kyle Love-5th round, 160th pick, Indianapolis Colts

just like Jerry Rice. Except at running back of course. I think Rice ran a 4.7 or 4.8 40 or something like that, and would probably suck at track, but on the football field, it was a totally different story. I think Dixon's speed is comparable in that sense, becuase like you said, he has enough speed to break off some big runs.

If I were him, I would maybe consider skipping the 40 yard dash at the combine.

I would maybe agree with that except that Rathman was a fullback- and was kind of revolutionary fullback at that. Kind of ahead of his time. If they had a fullback position on the pro-bowl teams during the prime of his career, he would have made a couple.

He's the only guy I could never turn the corner with on NFL 94 (?) for Sega Genesis. He was the slowest turd on that game. You could take any runningback and run to the right and then reverse field and be gone for a TD every time. Rathman's rear end was the only runningback that could never get back to the other side of the field in time. In time, I quit using anybody but him just to try to get the corner one time---never did.

O'Neal as a person, or O'Neal as a player? Huge difference..No matter what Hudspeth says, he doesn't have a place on an SEC football team.
