I did once for a bowl game (Penn State in CapOne Bowl, stayed in the Orlando Peabody), but that's different, as the team is there for a week and a half or more.<div>
</div><div>I never have stayed in a team hotel for a regular season weekend game and was wondering what it was like? Do you get to see the players/coaches up close much? Do you get to talk with them? Or do they hide off in their hotel rooms and talk in meeting rooms?</div><div>
</div><div>I already have a confirmed reservation for a room in a small Best Western about a mile from UGA's Sanford Stadium. We could walk to the game. The MSU team's hotel is in Norcross, about an hour's drive to the Athens.</div><div>
</div><div>But I'm still considering canceling the Athens reservation and taking one in the team hotel. The team hotel is $89/night cheaper and looks like a much better hotel than the one I currently have reservations with in Athens. And the team will be there.</div><div>

....though it was by coincidence, not by design. Let's just say the first people we saw when we pulled up on Friday night were The Bus Driver and Rockey Felker hanging out in the lobby.

There were players and player families moving around the lobby area most of the day on Saturday, it was pretty casual.

If you are coming to the Auburn game, here's a fairly accurate listing of hotels, prices, and availabilities in Auburn-Opelika. It is updated weekly.

If you are staying on Montgomery, I'd suggest the east side of town near the Shoppes at Eastchase. There are some other places in Montgomery that are also OK but the ones at Eastchase are maybe a little more convenient.

You can also sleep in my yard. One night minimum. No indoor access allowed.

on a somewhat related note, does anyone think tickets will be cheaper scalped outside the memphis stadium or the 50 through the ticket office

....the $50 tickets will be in plentiful supply at the box office, and I'd be surprised if there were a lot of people holding too many tickets.

I'm curious as well.
