2011 or 1999 preference?

I was thinking about this earlier today and just wanted to hear some other opinions on the subject.

This year's team and the 1999 team seem like they are in direct contrast. Although it is early in the season still, this year's team appears to have a stellar offense and at times shaky D. On the other hand the 1999 team had an amazing defense with a so so offense. If you had to choose an identity for our future teams, would you rather have a team that tried to outscore opponents or a team that struggles to score and relies on the defense to keep us in games?

That aspect played a big role on that team.

I want to see how this season plays out before having to choose between this team and 1999. As of now, obviously 1999 but the jury is still out.

Those were some nerve wracking games but damn they felt good afterwards.

Defense kept us in every game, then special teams and Matt Wyatt. That was a special team.

and relive that year in Starkville.. a good football season is that much better when youre gettin some strange on the reg and goin to class with your handstamps.

I think it's much more comparable to the 2000 team. They could put points on the board, but the D wasn't close to what it was the year before. They beat UF and AU back to back weeks at home, but lost some games that they should have won, i.e. at USC.
