I really just wanted start a discussion about our home field advantage and how it has changed over the last 2 years. We kept getting better and played very well at home. Hopefully that continues.

We are not ready to be a "contender" with these guys. You don't go from being 5th and 6th in the SECW to knocking off theLSUs and Bamas in the same year.

We might, MIGHT beat USC. .... we have no linebackers to stop Lattimore. </p>

I will be shocked if we beat LSU. Bama on the other hand - we have a shot.

Historically we give Bama a good game. Last year the Bama gamewas our worst game under Mullen, but that was coming straight off the loss of Nick Bell.

When will you people learn, we don't just automatically LOSE AT HOME anymore. It doesn't matter who we're playing. We covered a huge gap last year with our team, and I expect improvement again this year. Mullen is a winner and will make us a winner.

Btw- I predicted several things last year that all came true.

although it is considered a "long-shot" ... which is way more than we have had in the past

Bama had 3 big plays that killed us. There was a botched tackle on the sideline on#15, the screen to Ingram, and Julio's end around. All of these went for 6. Not to mention the safety that was not called. Same thing with LSU also. I think that we out gained them but had like 5 turnovers.

I don't pick us to win either of those games, but we certainly could win one of them.

and one other of the big guys

LSU, AL, ARK, GA

We will beat OM,

My hope before that game is that Mullen calls a press conference and tells everyone that Relf has suffered a knee injury and the doctors will not under any circumstances - allow him to "Take A Knee"

In my opinion the stands should go crazy in the fourth qtr yelling "Score again" every time we get the ball.

It will make them better humans to feel the agony of defeat.

do you really think their players, that are probably more talented, and come from just as good, if not better coaching staffs, don't have an impact on the game???

keep telling yourself "oh yeah .. but if we just woulda. .. yeah but there was that one big play ... etc etc"

THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE b/t the LSUs and BAMAs and us.

if we're "just as good", then how come our players didn't make any ... ANY of those big plays they made on us?

on us or them ... who would you pick?

would you honestly pick us to beat LSU?

would you honestly pick us to beat BAMA?

what happened 2 years ago has absolutely no impact on this years games. This fall, both of those teams will march into our stadium, their coaches will call the correct plays, their players will execute them, we may "almost" win, yet both teams will leave Vegas with a SECW win.

I'm not Miss Cleo, and won't make any bold predictions as to whether or not we definitely win or lose; but I do think we at least have a shot at beating both of those teams next year. Likely? No. But possible?...Sure. Assuming we continue to improve the way we have since the Croomer left, we should be able to compete with just about anybody. In any close game, one or two random plays can make all the difference in the game(ie Pegues' td return against Orgeron's Bears when all seemed lost or Anthony Johnson's interception vs Bama for a TD same year). LSU and Bama will be more talented, obviously, but no one automatically knows what will happen in college football. That's why it's such a great game.

Honestly, I'm just happy to be talking about competing with other SEC teams again. It wasn't that long ago everyone was wondering whether or not we could beat Vandy, UAB, or for God's sake LaTech.

What makes you more confident about us against Bama than us against LSU? We were a jump pass away from beating LSU in 09 and last year we were just a turnover machine. Bama has dominated us both times in the last 2 years. I just think Mullen has shown that we have a better shot against Miles and LSU than Saban and Bama.
