...makes a QB (not just TR) look like "he throws like a girl". As a cfb fan, I know they don't, but it still looks that way frozen in mid-throw.

Right after my post I looked at it again and think it really is supposed to be something like breaking through frozen ice, like a veiled reference to Freeze. Subtle, I like it.
