scenario would be 5 wins. That's a big difference. Gonna be a fun year. We get our "toss ups" at home. We should be able to handle Kentucky and Ole Miss on the road. I don't see how Kentucky is going to be any better. They lost their defense.

Definite Win: JSU, MTSU, USA, @Troy(Troy was terrible last year).

Should Win(i.e.shouldbe favored): @KY, UT, @UM, aTm.

Toss Up(small home dogs): Auburn, Arkansas

No Chance: @UA, @LSU.

I'mREALLY, REALLY liking the schedule.

I'm concerned about Auburn early...because Auburn has almost everyone returning and we will be breaking in some new folks.

On a full week, I think we win that game no question. But on a short week after playing Bama? That could end up being a much tougher game. I think the Auburn game will end up being a pick 'em week 2. But I see at minimum 6 wins. All 4 nonconference and at least 2 out of UT, UK, TAMU, and OM. But I'm with you, I think this schedule is set up very well for us. If we can beat Auburn and win our early nonconference games, we could have some serious momentum going into the middle of the season.

What's great about this schedule is we may be looking at another January bowl game...what's horrible about that is the world is scheduled to end on Dec. 21, 2012.

We just can't catch a break!

The hold up is the Arky Texas A&M game. Something about a contract with jerry Jones place. should have been resolved months ago.

A&M shouldn't have any trouble selling out their home conference games. That's a tough home schedule but a who's who of college football ... but one we're used to too.<div>
</div><div>I wonder if those two teams will regret moving to the SEC? Might be.</div>

Other than that, my question would be will we be able to parlay the 14 team conference alignment into a way to maintain a 7 game home schedule year in and year out?

..then it's profoundly easier that this year's schedule.

Seriously, if Mullen can't get to 7 wins with this schedule, he needs to get half of that $2.5 million ripped from his direct deposit.

Troy 9/15. Pretty solid speculation.

2012 @mstateFB non-conference schedule is complete. 9/1 vs Jackson State, 9/15 at Troy, 9/22 vs South Alabama & 10/20 vs Middle Tenn

I keep telling everyone, the SEC is NOT going to go to a 9-game schedule. I know other conferences are doing it, but the SEC is not other conferences. The only change in our schedule is we drop one rotating opponent in the East and add Texas A&M.

17 those ridiculous schedules from the old days. With Tennessee, Kentucky, those four OOC games, and Ole Miss, we should get to at least six regular season wins again. In reality, I could see another 8 win regular season depending on how we play aTm.

SEC teams already play by far the toughest conference schedules of any conference in the country. Our ADs know how to schedule to win games (see how the SEC is always criticized for weak OOC schedules). The last thing they're going to want to do is to make their schedules any tougher than they already are. Other conferences are going to a 9-game schedule because they've been having trouble scheduling 4 OOC games. The SEC is in a stronger position to schedule those games than other conferences are. Also, with them moving to a 9-game schedule, the cost of buy games will go down since the demand has dropped while the supply stays the same.

Thursday SEC home games. Seems to be such a GREAT idea for us to move an SEC home game to Thursday EVERY BLAME YEAR but yet basically all other SEC programs refuse to do so even the Bears. Nothing like forcing your fans to have to take off work and pull kids out of school if they want to come. If it was REALLY that great an idea I can assure we wouldn't be the only ones doing it. And beyond that apparently we plan to play TN on Thursday after a bruising game in Tuscaloosa. That's idiocy!

....with 14 teams in the league, adding a ninth conference game ASSURES that your league will suffer an additional seven interleague losses. And those seven guaranteed losses would knock teams out of bowl eligibility and cost the conference money. Instead, everybody plays a fourth non-conference game, which is for the very most part, a winning proposition.

and the experience of our fans are too important to sell for any price. There should be no on-campus football during any class day. Period. Plenty of city schools play off campus and they can fill out the TV Guide for Thursdays. Make it stop happening to us. Don't just say no. Say, NO WAY.

but I feel that it was the same argument used when the league expanded to 8 conference games and again when the SEC added the Championship game but we've done much better post-expansion. From a fans perspective, I think the biggest issue with NOT going to 9 games is that it would take something like 12 years to rotate through all of your non-divisional opponents.

Every other year you have 4 conference games at home and 5 on the road. Coaches won't like that.
