I didn't realize we lost or dropped the guy out of Memphis. But personally - if we're going to sign a little speedster WR like that, I'd rather find an in-state guy like Marcus Green.

Anybody know anything about the two JUCO OL we already have signed? Projected G or T? And chances of starting? I'm assuming we are hoping for a JUCO OT to start next year?

It looks like to me we alternate OL recruits between HS and JUCO. If rather see us signing HS kids unless an immediate need is available. Signing JUCO guys for depth isn't a great idea.

Does the lack of any 2* or 3* on the list indicate a general upward trend in quality(or perceived quality) of recruits?

NOTE: Not intended to start an argument about whether all 2* and 3* are really worst than all 4* and 5*.

An immediate need is there in 2015. Apparently you aren't too familiar with our depth at that position, or its importance for our football program in general. From the 2011 class, James Maiden and Nick Redmond aren't here anymore, and it's left a big gap that won't show up until then. These JUCO OL (and hopefully Avery Gennessy) will redshirt in 2014 and be seasoned Jrs. in 2015 to shore that up.

Your observation about rotating can't be further from the truth.

I'm just happy to have this guy!

Tyler Jones 6'/4270 Stone Mountain, GA *** [MSU]

I can't wait to see the impact of a 2 ton lineman.

We desperately need some depth at OL next year and the two JUCO guys will give it. Price will probably be a G but might could play RT. I think Johnson projects at a T which is where we are thinnest.

Apparently you aren't too familiar with recruiting. You don't sign JUCO's to redshirt.

It can go either way. If they are ready, they'll obviously make the 2-deep. If not, they'll redshirt. 2015 is the gap year, not 2014. Apparently you aren't familiar with our depth situation. We have a plethora of Jrs. who will be on the 2-deep, in addition to Malone and Senior.

Hopefully we sign 3, and it's a foregone conclusion that at least 1 will redshirt, and that's worst case scenario.

I don't think we'll be running behind anyone that's 2 tons. Walking would even be a struggle.
