No it isn't. We would trade him if he asked.
And get what in return? A 5th or 6th round pick? Teams won't offer much if they know they can get him later for nothing.

Btw, I've already seen mentions that he wants to play for Pats or Panthers.

After a little research it seems as though he can't retire and then unretire to sign with another team. However, if he does unretire right before the season starts or after, it would really put the Lions in a bind with the cap. So it could force a trade to his choice or be released.

Yes any pick is better than nothing, and what he has done for the team I like the most I'd like to think they would respect his wishes. Of course they didn't with Barry Sanders but that was different.

I'd seriously be pissed as a Lions fan if they didnt respect him and offer a fair trade to teams he wants to play for. I'd hope for a 3/4 round pick or hell even a player honestly! The pats have several young underperforming WRs I'd take in a swap for a possibility of success.

I wish he liked a team that we could offer him and our #1 to move up in the first but that's not likely at all.

Also, what link you got showing he wants to play elsewhere? I've read this is legit concern for his physical well being. Which he has had back and leg issues and at WR those are glaring issues!
