Wins- New Mexico, Austin Peay
Losses- Bama, Florida, Tennessee, UGA, UL, Miss St
Toss Up- Southern Miss, USC, Mizzou, Vandy

I see worst case of 2-10 and best case of 6-6. It will probably be 3-9 or 4-8 though.

Loses: Bama, Fla, TN, UGA, M. State
Everyone else is a question mark.
IF our O makes strides, then Southern Miss and Vandy lean more towards W's
IF both O and D make strides all remaining games are toss ups.

Unfortunately, being competitive may still result in a 3-5 win season. Realistically as a fan, we should expect to see a team that executes at a much more efficient manner and our game management improves. Provided we are extremely competitive, progress will have been made.

We play New Mexico State not New Mexico, that is a big difference. New Mexico State is coached by Doug Martin, former UK QB.

I agree with a lot you have here. Win the ones we should that you have as wins and then pick up one of the 3 you have as possible upsets. Keep the other games close and I would call that a great season and we get to go bowling. I don't see 7 wins in the regular season unless something wonderful happens but a couple good bounces this season and we have 7 wins right now and looking at a warm bowl game.

Wins- So. Miss, NM St. , USCjr , Vandy, Austin Peay
Possible Win- @ Missouri, Mississippi St. , @ Louisville, @ Florida (Only bc their QB will still be out)
No Chance- @Bama, Georgia, @Tennessee

I think we finish 6-6 next year with 2017 being our 8 win year!

Should Win
New Mexico State
Austin Peay
Southern Miss
Mizzou or USCjr (I don't think we beat both)

Should Lose
Florida
Bama
UT
Miss St
UGA

Toss up
UL
Vandy

Think we finish 4-8 with a slim chance at 6-6.

I expect major improvement in 2017.
2016 is still a rebuilding year.
Stoops will get it done and Mitch will look like a genius for extending his contract

Not sure I would agree with putting UL in the Win column as must as I hate to admit it. I do agree with your other five projected wins, however. Overall, I think 6-6 is the absolute best I can hope for at this point, and 4-8/5-7 wouldn't surprise. At some point, I've just got to put down the Blue Kool Aid.

S. Miss., Austin Peay, N. Mexico St. S. Carolina, Miss. St. Vanderbilt, Mizzou, UL-, 8 wins there if they win all of those. 3 wins against bunnies, the rest of those teams are even in terms of talent, in fact I can make claim that S. Carolina, Mizzou and UL are not as talented regardless of what happened that last game. That was a giveaway meltdown.
In other words 8 games that UK can win without playing completely over their heads.

Alabama, Fla, and UT are the only games I see as not winnable
UGA, they are more talented but who knows this with this new HC, Offense could not get a first down for 4 quarters against the average to good UGA defense.

I will say they end up winning 7, they beat UL or Miss. St. and probably lose to a S. Carolina or Mizzou.
Not that difficult.

I will take any combination of more wins than losses.

I don't get how people always think vandy and UL are for sure wins. You do realize we have lost 6 of the last 7 to vandy and UL has beat us 5 straight.........

Definite Wins
New Mexico State
Austin Peay

We’d really have to suffer some kind of complete meltdown to lose these. Chance of a loss is under 1%.

Likely Wins
Southern Miss

Season opener. They had a good season, so this one’s not a gimme. Chance of a loss is ~30%, which to me is still unacceptably high.

Complete Toss-Ups
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Missouri

Like it or not, these programs are UK’s “peers” in the SEC at the moment. For the Wildcats to make strides, we need to consistently beat all three, or at least 2 each year. I see these as true 50/50 games.

Likely Losses
Mississippi State
Louisville

It pains me to put Louisville in this category, but until we beat them again, that’s where they should stay. Same goes for MSU. MSU was formerly in the “peer” category, but has since surpassed us. They could take a step back without Dak, of course. We shall see. ~30% chance of a win against each.

Definite Losses
Alabama
Tennessee
Florida
Georgia

The talent gap from top to bottom between us and these programs is significant. Yes, some of these teams have had issues, but they are all trending upwards now. A surprise upset here would be very important. ~10% chance of a win against one of these teams, except Bama.

Keys to a Successful Season

· Play fundamentally sound (minimal penalties, players execute their assignments)

· No game management brainfarts from the coaching staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

· Noticeable player development

· Improved special teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary
Best case scenario is 7-5, sweep the gimmes and toss-ups, and beat one of UofL/MSU. I just don’t see a higher ceiling than that right now. 6-6 would still be a definite step forward given the circumstances. Most likely outcomes in my opinion are 4-8 or 5-7, though, which won’t make the fans happy, and Stoops’ seat will get deservedly hot. Really, 2015 was so disappointing because the schedule was set up very favorably for UK to gain some momentum, but in-game mismanagement cost us a victory or two, and that’s on the staff. Players performing poorly likely cost us another. Here’s hoping the staff rights the ship for 2016; it’s only gonna get tougher. GBB!
