  • Tate Levitt - the juco O tackle will almost definitely start at LT
  • Stoops said yesterday that the transfer LB from Minn - Laster(sp?) was "unblockable at times on scout team" - so he will be a big candidate to start somewhere.
  • I also feel GA-A is more of a natural guard - my guess is he will move inside and take the guard spot opposite Meyers, who was pretty solid.
  • praying for a surprise or two from the redshirts that will bolster the two-deep!!!!

I'd say Kash will beat out Firios. Also Love Smith will be hard to keep out of the starting lineup.

Tate Leavitt should also be starting at one of the tackle positions.

Being unblockable against this offense doesn't make you a great player lol. Hopefully though he will be a good player.

I look for Mcwilson to bulk up and move to linebacker.

I like that option because he already has a hard hitting mentality and he would be a fast weakside linebacker, particularly on passing downs.

I also think that Mosier (and probably GAA) should move down to their more natural position of offensive guard. Mosier was just not quick enough to deal with much faster, athletic defensive ends.

Didn't we RS nearly all of the OL?

OL Logan Stenberg, OL Calvin Taylor Jr.,and OL Mason Wolfe, I think all three redshirted.

Losing Josh Krok and Nick Richardson hurt the depth of the o-line.

GA-A does need to move to guard. It's his natural spot and we lose a senior. He'll probably be the LG next year.

Is Levitt a LT or RT? I would love to see Meadows moved to LT. I think he'd do better there than RT.

Looking at our future roster for next year, it's not as bad as our record would lead you to believe. At least we have some hope! I just hope Barker will be ready to be the leader of this team and put our qb struggles in the past. I think the kid has tons of potential, but here at Kentucky, potential is all we ever hear and see. I for one would love to finally see the finished product instead of all the potenial in the world.

Question with OL is where will depth come from?

OLB-Ware/Hatcher

OLB-Laster/McWilson

Hopefully UK can finally get something out of K. Walker/Firios.

Agree with other positions.

I hope you are right but I just don't see Barker as the answer at QB,he looks very pedestrian at this point. There is little doubt that he will be the starter to open the season but foot speed arm strength are 2 things he just doesn't have.

Several have talked about our DL(that position looks to be thin at best) and LB's(I think we will be better than most believe there) but QB may be a bigger issue than we want to admit.

I agree about Drew. Just doesn't look like he has it. Looks very slow, and was off the mark on the vast majority of his passes. I don't look for him to be the answer at QB. In my opinion, we are in trouble at that position next year.

would love to get a solid mobile juco QB for next year. Every other scholly should be used on Dline/ pass rushers, IMO. If an explosive juco RB is available, snag him too.

Most of the starters are back plus lot of the backups and some quality red-shirts to boot. On paper this should be a deep and experienced team, but that's paper. The intangibles that have been discussed on here ad nauseam are what worries me. Hopefully we get most of that fixed during the off season.

For those that have questions about Barker, I don't think we've seen enough of him yet to pass judgement and if he has all the deficiencies as some have noted herein, how did he make the Elite 11? I can't reconcile those things.

If Meadows starts without immense improvement, we are in trouble at that spot!

Good point about Barker. It's not at all rare that an Elite 11 quarterback, who was also a 5.9 Rivals prospect, might fail or disappoint. It is rare that such a prospect will fail because of a deficient tool set. If there's a deficient tool set, eg, lack of arm strength, then how does the guy get the high ranking in the first place?

But, even if Barker really does lack arm strength and mobility and other "tools", that doesn't mean that he can't become as good as Hartline or Max Smith. With that said, I don't think that there should be a full blown qb competition, but I do think that Phillips and possibly even a true freshman in Hoak should at least have a chance to win the job. It should be Barker's job to lose, but it should not be written in stone that he's guaranteed the job.

Needs to happen. He's best near the line of scrimmage and hits hard. Would be a good move imo.
The staff experimented with this a little. He needs to be on the field in some capacity. I like our secondary a lot. Put Mcwilson at outside linebacker and that will give us a backer that can cover well and force. People don't want to hear this but our defense is going to be better next year and probably the best it has been in a while.

Really looking forward to see what K. Daniel, both Walkers, and Jordan Jones can do after a year in the program and on offense Richardson, Greenwood and Bunchy Stallings.

Let's hear your evaluation of him.
Shown good pocket presence and can hit a half back screen pass. Shown that he can make all the throws, but hasn't shown that he can do so consistently. His 2 starts have been in snow and rain, is that a cause of inaccuracy or is that just what he is going to be?

RS freshman, so has time to show improvement...didn't make as many dangerous throws from game 1 to 2 to 3, so that is a positive.

Do not know if he is the answer. Do know that Towles was not the answer.

yeah, provided he shows up and is all we hope he can be. dangerous to do with Juco's sometimes, not knowing the poor quality of S&C and position coaching they are receiving.

Losing Josh Krok and Nick Richardson hurt the depth of the o-line.
hurts depth at tackle. we've got guards out the ace, but precious few edge blockers.

No way in hell Baker should start off the season starting...he should start the season on the sidelines till he shows the coaches he has grown up and plays for the team
