Name a team in each region who didn't make the playoffs last year that you expect to break into the postseason this year.
A - Churchland - tough pick in this region as 4A East had 3-7 Denbigh and 4-6 KF make the playoffs last year, leaving 5 2-8 or worse teams to choose from. I choose my man Devils and the Truckers. The school has produced a few NFL players and some new blood leading the charge might be enough to sneak them into a 7 or 8 seed.
B - Caroline - some people may find this pick surprising. PH-Ashland dropping down would be the obvious pick. I chose the Cavaliers after seeing them at the JM 7v7 in May. They are bigger, fast and stronger than I've ever seen them. They went unbeaten in pool play at JM and we knocked them off in the semifinals of the tournament. They have some confidence IMO. Not sure who they have OOD, but if they get a couple early season wins to grab momentum, lookout Battlefield.
C - Sherando - Hammy says their still a year away from being special. With that schedule and the fact they missed the playoffs last year, I'm going to go out on a limb and say they'll be playing with a chip on the old shoulder and be running through people for much of the season. No stretch for them to miss the playoff last year and bounce back to win their region this year.
D - EC Glass - Woody and company were on fire out of the gates last season but hit a wall late, as can happen in the Seminole. Returning 19 of 22 starters from a 6-4 team makes this an easy choice IMO. Brookville and Heritage are the key games, rivals that they've struggled against recently. If they can knock off one of those teams, 7-8 wins is likely.
