At long last, the annual previews and predictions that are 100% guaranteed to be wrong – or your money back!

As usual, this will be many posts:
- An overview of the field
- One post per weight, to keep posts shorter and for easier replies
- I’ll (badly) predict the finals for each weight; after that is gravy

For something a little lighter …

Best names:
AAA 160 – Stetson Boozer.
AAA 172 – Suds Dubler. This is actually @Cowbellman ‘s stage name.
AA 215 – Kirk Bearjar. How does he make the bear fit in there?

Cael count = 5
Cael Dailey (AA 106)
Cael Markle (AA 145)
Cael Black (AA 215)
Cael Nasdeo (AAA 113)
Cael McIntyre (AAA 120)

Feel good story:
Deven Jackson (West Perry, AA 113) is a double amputee. He’s a SR and has placed at states before.

Others – top half:
Alan Alexander, SE-6, Pope John Paul II SR, 23-9, S6

Others – bottom half:
Luke Moore, SW-3, Chestnut Ridge SR, 36-8, S7

MacKay vs Garcia should be one of the best finals this year … but this would’ve been Levi’s weight, and Southern Columbia JR Wes Barnes (4th at 189 last year) is injured and missed the postseason.

Prediction:
1 – MacKay

3 – Schneider

Others – top half:
Ty Csencsits, SE-2, Saucon Valley SR, 29-8, S8

Pitzer has only seen the 2nd period 3x all year. He will pin his way thru Hershey (!) and reach 100 career falls (!!) – despite missing an entire year to injury (!!!).

Prediction:
1 – Pitzer
2 – Morrison
3 – Linkerhof
4 – Mahaffey

Others – top half:
Nico Fanella, SW-2, Indiana FR, 31-1

Others – bottom half:
Luke Sirianni, NE-2, Abington Heights JR, 36-1, S6

Desmond is a legitimate PA 4x champ contender. FULL COURT PRESS !!!!

Sirianni and Willochell are next best, with a common opponent: Willochell beat Flanagan 3-0, Sirianni beat him 14-6.

Prediction:
1 – Desmond

Carson Wagner, NE-4, Northampton JR, 25-7, S6-S5
Nico Tocci, SC-2, Warwick SR, 38-3 (Air Force)
Darius McMillon, SW-2, Peters Township FR, 29-3

This is the craziest weight at states this year, with 3 returning state finalists and 7 returning medalists. Then add top freshman Parkins (2nd at Beast of the East), Tocci (beat Williams at districts), and McMillon (brother of state finalist Donovan, now Florida safety).

Going with Jacaruso, who is notoriously difficult to score upon and beat NJ state champ Anthony Knox (the Bassett-slayer).

Our guy: Nasdeo has a brutal draw – Wagner is a long-time nemesis, then Tocci, then Jacaruso.

Prediction:
1 – Jacaruso
2 – Williams
3 – Nasdeo
4 – Parkins
5 – Tocci
6 – Wagner
7 – Chappell

AAA 189 seeds:
1 – Quinn Collins, SE-1, Central Bucks East SR, 39-1, S6
2 – Sonny Sasso, NE-1, Nazareth JR, 42-0, S7
3 – Mac Stout, SW-1, Mount Lebanon SR, 38-0, S2 (Pitt)
4 – John Miller, SC-1, Exeter SR, 41-2
5 – Trey Shoemaker, Mifflin County SR, 36-4

Others – top half: (none)

Others – bottom half: (none)

Paper-thin weight after the top 4 guys. Sasso and Stout are the best 2, but will face each other in the semis due to Stout’s lack of prestige points (missed the postseason due to injury last year) – or if you prefer, due to Sasso not finishing top 6. Collins is also nationally ranked. Miller placed at Super 32.

Prediction:
1 – Stout
2 – Collins
3 – Sasso
4 – Miller

As always, great job @El_Jefe.

Here's a take from Todd Irwin, who doesn't provide the in-depth info you do, but is a good follower of PIAA wrestling:

Looks like he gassed after AAA 160. Good article though.

Don’t sleep on Collins. His only loss is to 2 time NJ State Champ and Rutgers commit Brian Soldano. He also won ETR.

Wow. Man, I can’t make states this year but will miss it. Always so much fun craziness.

Anything of note at AA? Didn’t get to peruse the bracket yet.
