Nice win after yesterday’s gut wrenching loss. Let’s see them stretch above .500 like Atlanta has in the past month. That’d be a nice change for them.

I almost never bet -200 on a baseball game, but I make exceptions with Patrick Corbin on the mount. Ouch, 7 runs with 2 outs in the 3rd. 2 errors certainly didn't help him.
(PS. It's a first 5 inning bet, as I trust the Phils pen as much as I trust Corbin).

I thought it was runner's interference. Regardless of whether he would have gotten to it or not, the fielder was attempting to make a legitimate play on the ball. It wasn't as if he was trying to deke the runner on a ball hit to the other side of the infield. All in my amateur opinion of course. As a fan, I'll take the win. Those things all balance out, or so I've been told.

Yes they are. It also shows the size of the hole they were in that they win 14 of 16 (or whatnot) and are still 8 games back of the Mets and 2.5 back in the wild card.

I was just thinking of that in the bottom of the 5th. Nola is pitching great, and once again the Phightins are not giving him any run support.

Are Harper and Hoskins both getting a routine rest day?? Or maybe one or the other is nursing a nagging injury, Harper's elbow aside. That's a lot of offense on the bench for two guys who have been swinging the bat well.

Still very early in the season, don’t count out the Phillies just yet. A Mets team with an 8 game lead right now doesn’t guarantee anything. As for the Mets everything hinges on deGrom and Scherzer.
