If Texas & OU join after this season, I could very easily see Texas as preseason pick to win the league in 23-24. It makes the league that much tougher.

Not sure what scheduling will look like? 16 or 18 conference games. If it goes to 18 UCONN game probably has to move to Dec. 18 would also eliminate 2 OOC games. With series in place with taters, UCONN, Big 12 challenge and a 2-3 game holiday tourney. That only leaves 5/6 OOC spots. Limits possibilities

The league will have 3 sure fire HOF coaches; DS, Mulkey, and Schaefer at national spotlight programs. Quality established coaches at TAMU, Tenn, and OU. Rising star coaches at UGA, UF, and OM.

It means after this season we start to get serious challenges for league supremacy. It’s going to be damn near

impossible to break into the top 3 from the middle of of the pack. That includes Tenn. Next season is an all or nothing throw if the dice for them. They have final 4 talent but all 5 starters will be seniors

Expansion elevates the ACC-BIG10 challenge and downgrades SEC-BIG12

I could see it opening up recruiting in Cali. If you are going to play all those games in the Midwest....It just becomes more attractive to go east or stay in the PAC but not at USC or UCLA.
You think Texas will be the preseason pick to win the conference in their first year? I have not kept up with their team and recruiting. And I'm pretty sure Vic is not in the HOF. He (0 NCs as HC) is not in the same league as Dawn (2 NCs as HC) and Kim (3 NCs as HC).

Vic isn’t in the same league but you don’t have to win a national championship to be HOF. Has played in 2 national championship games, only active coaches with more are named Geno, Tara and Kim.
They are preseason top 5 for 22-23 and I believe return all their starters for 23-24. While we lose Boston, Cooke, Beal, Saxton, Fletcher, Amihere and even Thompson.

You may not have to win a NC to be in the HOF but he simply is not in the HOF so he is not a HOF coach. Might be one day but not now. I just don't think he is as great a coach as lots of others believe he is. To call him a HOF coach when he is not diminishes the achievements of those who actually are in the HOF. In my opinion he should not be called a HOF coach when he is not one. And you left out Dawn who has coached in 2 championship games and won both.

You are correct, I am presumptive. He is not presently in the HOF but he will be. After DS and Kim No other coach in the league comes close. Last 10 years he is 271-79 and that is with inheriting a bad and a down program. Two national COY awards and 2 championship games. When Texas comes into the league his resume will lag behind only DS and Mulkey. My point is starting in 23-24 those 3 will be THE top tier coaches and programs.

The big 4 going forward looks to be: Carolina, UT, LSU, & TX...
Tenn has staying power but they will graduate all 5 starter with 3 going to the WNBA. 23-24 will be a hard reset with them needing at least 2 big time players in the portal

Tennessee board thinks Angelica Velez and Rosario are a package deal to them. I really want Rosario!

Del Rosario and her teammate 5'7 PG Angelica Velez took an unofficial visit together to Tennessee. UT folks are thinking they are a package deal...

I know it sounds bad to say this but does it feel like we are struggling to get recruits this year? A whole lot have committed elsewhere and this is the year we will lose alot of players so have several needs. Is it that other teams are saying if you come to South Carolina you will never get to play but go to their school and play right away? Is it that players are afraid coming here it will hurt them because of less playing time kind of like I believe Rivers felt and why she left. It jus seems very, very quiet on recruiting front this cycle and it should be a big one due to upcoming loses as well as coming of national championship.
Somebody on the inside, what players does it look like we may get? It seems we missed several we wanted already.

I understand your anxiety, I have some also. However we have not had a public commitment in the summer the last two years.
We are in on Watkins, Del Rosario, Booker, and Fulwiley. All are 5 star top 15 national recruits. Sign all 4 and it is another #1 class

KK Arnold was really the only recruit that MIGHT be better than these 4

OK thanks. will keep a look out on those players. I figured Fulwiley was almost a lock from what I have heard but not sure about others.

Would be sweet to pull Watkins away from the west coast from Stanford, Southern Cal. etc.

Only two states have players win the WNBA MVP that attended different colleges in the same state.
California: Nneka Ogwumike, Stanford and Lisa Leslie and Cynthia Cooper Southern California

AND.....

Jonquel Jones the last season’s MVP attended Tillman Tech her Fr. Year 2012-13. They went 9-21 and fired coach Itoro Coleman. Jones immediately transferred to George Washington University and was the #1 pick in the draft. GWU and Jones actually played in the first round of the NCAA Tournament here in Columbia against K State in the 8-9 game

Rylee Grays committed to UNC...not on ESPN Gurlz Hoops even though she has been committed for over a month...
Thanks. Banghart is rather quickly putting together a top 10 program. Everyone knew she was excellent at X&O’s and she proving herself to be a very good recruiter.
WBB usually updates first of the month, Hoopgurlz is pretty hit or miss especially in the summer

Here is something very interesting from ESPN women's college basketball in regards to recruiting....the best ballhandler in the class of 23 and 24 is:

PG Kiyomi McMiller
2024 espnW 60 ranking: 7
Trinity Collegiate School (S.C.) | NEPA Elite

Hype around McMiller's talent dates back to her elementary school days. She caught eyes of some national evaluators and local coaches while participating in some individual showcases in the DMV area. She was adept at handling the ball with confidence from the get-go. She breaks down defenders with her handle, footwork and the ability to change tempos on a dime. She has the ball on a string like a yo-yo and keeps defenses at bay with her ability to nail shots from well beyond the arc.

Honorable mentions: PG Angelica Velez (2023 No. 36), PG Jaloni Cambridge (2024 No. 2), PG Hannah Hidalgo (2023 No. 5)

Can we land her if Fulwiley commits? PG Hannah Hidalgo is ranked as the # PG for '23...

Anyone seen McMiller play? she maybe the #1 PG in the class of '24...

McMiller put it to Cardinal Newman and Ashlyn Watkins last season. I think she put up 36 on them.

DS overstocks PGs. Henny, Cooke, Eniya Russell, Talaysia Cooper, Fulwiley, Kierra Fletcher all PGs. Dawn wants ballhandlers all over the court. PGs can convert easily to other positions but it’s really hard to convert a non PG to PG.

I think we can still get McMiller if Fulwiley comes here. We are also recruiting Cambridge very hard. However Cambridge’s older sister signed with UK and her other older sister played at Vandy.

You forgot Amihere, but seriously she deserves a raise for making that experiment work.

Dang, I hate you sometimes, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amihere is a perfect example of not a PG playing PG
Well to be fair that wasn't really by designed. They were kind of forced into it due to multiple injuries and the inexperience of Russell playing at this level.

Although now that I think about it, she did try to Rivers into PG as well and she's used Lele at point before as well.

Interestingly no …. But those in the stories circle only stay up for 24 hours and then disappear. Not sure when it was first posted.

Ok, thanks. I thought I was going crazy for a second. Hopefully she's just having some fun and just taking advantage of recruiting process a little before 🤞 commiting to us.
