Please use the thread for all pre-session, in-session, and post-session discussion for the Session VI of the 2024 NCAA Championships.

When:
March 23, 7:00 pm EDT

Where:
T-Mobile Center, Kansas City, MO

TV:
ESPN

Video Streaming:
ESPN+.

Audio Streaming:
The radio PBP, with Jeff Byers at the mic, will be streamed for free. The pre-session aspect will start at 6:40 pm EDT, with the actual wrestling at 7 pm EDT. You can access the audio stream at:

The best places for tracking the team scoring race is the Penn State Wrestling Club web site, or TrackWrestling. PSU has already locked up the Team Title, but they are still shooting for the NCAA record of 270.0 points.

Penn State Wrestling Club – wrestling lives here

PBP:
By tradition, I don't do PBP in the finals. And with six PSU wrestlers in the finals, I'm not going to break tradition. I'll make posts in the thread, but I'm not doing PBP. @GregPickel or any of you are invited to do PBP.

Here's hoping we have a lot to celebrate this evening!

sorry for the confusion. I attempted to move 2 posts into the original Session VI thread. Alas, I had a bunch of posts marked to be deleted, but then I deleted the entire thread they were in. So when I moved the 2 posts, I inadvertently moved all those marked posts, as they were still in the ADMIN to be addressed, and ended up corrupting the thread. So, I've got to start this thread over.

Good evening everyone. Happy Finals eve. Just a quick heads up: PbP for Kerk and Bartlett will be no problem. We publish front page stories for each national title but there is enough lag time after their matches to do both if either wins. When we get into that 157-174 run, doing both may be very tough, and with it being on national tv, I’ll be leaning toward getting the article up from the prior match if needed before turning to PbP of the current match. May not matter in the end but just an FYI on how things could play out.

Sorry for any posts that got canned when I had to delete the original Session VI thread. I could have copied them over, but then they would have been posted by me. If you want them in this thread, re-post them.

Wish all these young men in blue and white the best tonight.
They’re getting mentally prepared, and I’m in my recliner nervous as a prostitute in Church!
We Are……!!

So we start with 285. Then we go 2 weight classes (125 & 133) where a PSU wrestler is not in the finals. That's our largest "break" from watching a PSU wrestler tonight. 149 & 184 are the only other finals that are without a PSU wrestler in the match.

The winner of 197 will probably win the Hodge even though Haines, Mesenbrink, and Keckeisen all have a better case than Hidlay if he wins

Davison in a way reminds me of cassar a strong fast wrestler at this weight. Kerk has experience and needs to wear him out early and grind him down.
