Probably ends up at Michigan. Academics matter, I think he has two degrees already. UM's HWT is done, I believe, he was a one year rental anyway.
Lol, Pile said that Harvard grad Slavikouski couldn't get into Michigan academically last year, and that Davison suddenly entering the portal was merely a coincidence.

Which is funnier: that Pile believes this, or that if it's somehow true then Slavikouski went to Rutgers for a year to get his grades up.

Looks like Michigan is just one 125 or 184 or 285 pounder away from another "bought" trophy placement... interesting times. I hear Captain America has a year left if the Air Force grants him...

Cardenas to Meatchicken, who would have guessed?

Could be a close team race if Beau, Star, and Kerk leave.

That’s what we need now. An elite 197 pounder. Really bad since Brooks is out of eligibility

No worries, Connor Mirasola will be a title contender by the end of the year.
Hopefully your right but not as a true freshman at that weight. He’d benefit big time with a red shirt. Bring in a stud through the portal for 197. Love to see it.

If he goes, I will bet you top 4. One writer already has him to win it all.

No it won't. Here are the returning NCAA points per team, including Cardenas at Michigan. Does not include Carter. If none of those 3 guys return, we lose 43.5 pts --> 89.5 pts, still comfortably ahead without factoring in Facundo/Bearclaw at 174 or Barr at 184.

BTW this also does not include Alirez -- assuming he returns, he returns more points for Northern Colorado than Michigan's entire team including Cardenas does.

Ohio State is a bigger concern for me than Michigan, especially if Sasso is full strength. Young guys they have are no joke!
Ohio State has a good roster that would contend if not for PSU.

Sasso at full strength is probably not happening this year if ever. Hope to be wrong about this. His progress has been remarkable to be able to lead a normal life, but he's not practicing yet. He has also said publicly that he won't return if he can't be at his previous level -- which is national finalist level. I'll take that to mean he won't return if he thinks he's maybe gonna finish 7th with a good draw. He's a slam dunk for a medical shirt, but who knows if he would actually take it.

Long story short, we probably should assume he's not back until he declares himself back, and even then we probably shouldn't assume he'll repeat his 18.0 pts as a past national finalist until we see him wrestle at a high level.

Cardenas took 4th and Buchanan has finished 3rd 2x, but a HS kid is right now the 2025 favorite?

Sounds like Flo.

I know it was freestyle but beat Dean, wick and another AA. Training partners for the next year not too shabby. If he goes he will be in the mix. Freshman making runs at title has become more and more common, not just at PSU.

Only when they come out of M2… Ryder could be next, then Duke.

Disagree. M2 is one of several top clubs. But other club also pumping out title level kids. Just a few non M2 kids. Welsh, Mesenbrink, Arnold and O'Toole.

Sure, in the mix. I think he's a likely AA if he goes this year. High AA if he improves on bottom (he was not good on bottom vs Sinclair at WNO).

But favorite today? That's a reach.

He committed to Ohio State until he saw that their program lacked real growth, and ran to a fight by going to the best program, by far, in the country.
"Saw their program lacked real growth" = he followed Snyder. Not that I blame him. It was the right decision.

In any case, why say Gibson isn't Lion material? There could be many reasons for him to flip. Just take the high road and wish him well.
