I like the post offering data and context, but that March number is the minute sample size of three games. Stott did struggle it seemed for the balance of the year. It’s almost as if he had a sophomore slump in his third full season.

I said the same thing! Started following the Phillies in 63 at age 6. Lucky enough to be there last night with my son.
There were many very cool and LOUD parts but the most disappointing was the Phillies are using “Make some Noise” in a too familiar and irritating voice. Lol.
I get the wide arm angle LHP thing, but Stott has 2 hits and 2 BBs in 8 PAs vs Manea. Does Thompson know this? It's easy to google.
Welp. Their backs are against the wall tomorrow against a top lefty. Based on this Phillies team’s history, that’s not a good matchup.

They’ve been dead offensively since the All Star Break. This isn’t new. It’s who they’ve been for 3 months.
I saw that Ranger is slated to pitch tomorrow. @Grant Green , time to see if you’re right about him being a good #4 for the playoffs.

Exactly. Before the ASB they were taking pitches and hitting to opposite fields. It was a refreshing change, making me think they finally learned their lessons for offensive approach. But all that went out the window the second half.
All I hear about is pitching but like you said they lose because they don't hit.
With the current MLB playoff setup, it's consistent with the hot teams in September making noise in the playoffs. The teams coming off byes have no momentum. Look at the Mets, Tigers and Padres this year. Dbacks, Rangers last year, Phils the year before that.
This feels like the end of the road for this current Phillies team. They had success but fell short of a title.
Ultimately, their boom or bust offense and lack of a bullpen cost them each year in some form. I hope Dombrowski learns from that.

doesn’t pay to lock up the 1 or 2 seeds…. The byes make you lose any type of momentum you might have had. The dodgers are grim right now too
Bohm needs to sit again. He saw 5 pitches in 4 at bats. Post HR derby claims another victim. Rojas, Hays, Marsh totally useless at the plate. If they play 4 innings today with 2 or less hits they are toast and I fear that Ranger is gonna get bombed. Nice season but this team needs huge changes in the lineup. At least Castellanos is tradeable again.

Now that wasn’t my intent. But many of us didn’t expect the season to rest on Ranger’s shoulders so soon.
Yes except the Dodgers’ offense was pretty good in Game 1 and scored 5 last night.
