3 of top 10 and 4 of top 25 NJ recruits is good. Once RU gets 5 of top 10 and 7-9 of top 25 in state recruiting will really be humming along with top 15 recruits from NY/PA/MD/VA/Midwest sprinkled with top 50 recruits in FL.

How many did HC Schiano want though?
If it was 7 of the Top 10 then getting only 3 isn't that good.
Part of the pitch for bringing back HC Schiano was that "only" he knows how to recruit at Rutgers and would fix in-state recruiting faster than anyone else.
To be honest NJ overall talent tends to be overrated. I only see 8-10 NJ players annually with the potential to be P2 level players coming out of HS so RU getting half the number is solid.
Like in most states, I see more players developing over time at D1 schools who will be able to contribute meaningfully at a P2 school at some point in their college careers.

Getting 5 of the top 10 will be extremely difficult though. With Syracuse in play now and the continued success of the blue bloods recruiting NJ: Michigan, PSU, OSU and of course high profile Georgia it will be hard. If we can have consistency of 3 or 4 of the Top 10 and 6 or 7 of the Top 25 NJ recruits that will continue our upward improvement. This and getting 2 or 3 of the Top 10 NY recruits each year will be ideal.
