Texas and South Carolina are playing right now on TruTV. I assume if Texas wins, they’ll be ranked #1 in the country when we go there next week.

They beat UCLA by double figures last night.

Kara and Duke catch a big break as Lauren Betts is out tonight. Hoping for a speedy recovery for her. The younger Betts has yet to dress out. UCLA played just 6 people yesterday. This Duke team has quite the experience already this season- losing to a WVU team that had only 5 players available. History can repeat itself- right?

I think this is on Dawn. Up 8 and your best player commits her 3rd foul and you bench her. Texas makes a run, and you still keep her on the bench. When you let her back in, TX kept the momentum . You have to trust your best best player(s)

dook 3-5 after a 30 point loss to UCLA.

Guys, again, they lost by 30 to UCLA without Betts……….. they gave up 90 points! UCLA was STILL +10 on the boards. UCLA had just 7 scholarship players available.

Looking back at the off-season, they lost their do-it-all in Oluchi. Their best player in Richardson. And their back-up PG in De Jesus. She elected to not bring anyone in via the portal— instead relying on two injured players in Nelson and Roberson to return to some kind of elite impact and a FR PG in Skinner who hasn’t really played and when she has it hasn’t been pretty. The writing was on the wall.

I think it’s time the public points out the lack of development in Durham.
-Donovan #3 overall recruit: has got progressively worse each year. Avg 6.5ppg as a FR, 2.4 now. Labeled as a G, has never attempted a 3. A CAREER 41% FT shooter and has avg just 1 FG per game this year in 25 min.
-Ashlon Jackson #15 overall recruit: 4-year, above average 3-point shooter, but has never shot >37% from the floor.
-Mair is the same player she was as a FR at BC. Little to no improvement in 3 years in Durham.
-Toby is a Top 5 player and has played like one offensively— and likely won’t be there next year.

The local and national sports media will never criticize the dookies in that way. Now, if it were the Heels…

LSU has the big girl from ND. They also have the number 1 recruiting class this past year along with MF from SC. In other worlds they are loaded.

Really thought preseason maybe the ACC would be better than people thought.
UNC, State, Louisville, ND probably locks. Stanford seemed better before just losing to FGCU. There’s definitely a drop off after that.
BC and Pitt are bad bad and may only get acc win against each other. SMU, GT, FSU may not finish much higher.
Clemson, Miami, VT, UVa, Stanford, Cal, Syracuse might be all battling in the middle for a few more NCAAT spots but all seem to be pretty mid. Virginia and Stanford had high hopes for a better year but one lost to UMBC and Stanford last night to FGCU. Wake is quietly 9-0 but hasn’t really played anyone to gauge if they could be legit-ish? Duke really has looked bad but if they don’t turn it around I put them in that dropoff mix probably playing to get into the tournament rather than playing for seeding/hosting. I’d say really the ACC will probably have 6-7 teams in this year, some teams may be much better in February than now, but early on it’s looking like last seasons ACC men.

You can put Wake at the bottom with BC and Pitt. They barely beat NCCU at Wake last week. NCCU had a chance to beat them. I do not think the ACC will have as many teams in the tournament as last year. I think FSU should be in the middle IMO. Cal should be at the bottom half IMO. I think VA will be in the top half IMO.

UCLA just smacked 10AC by 22.

During the handshake line, I'm thinking that was Janiah Barker, wouldn't shake Cori Close hand
Wow- gave up 99! 99-77. And that’s with a not 100% Lauren Betts. UCLA pretty much has that rotation of just 6 players. But they only turned it over 12 times with that press and forced 20 of their own. 58% from floor and 59% from 3. Elite, elite.

Yeah kind of crazy. It almost seems like they’re more potent with Dugalich in at the 5 instead of Betts. No knock on Betts but Dugalich is so active and agile on both ends of the floor. They were really able to open the floor up and their offense moved much better than some of the possessions with Betts in there. Who knows but the last couple of games they were smoking and probably could have hung with Texas in the first half of that game better if they had played with this kind of pace and ball movement.

No surprise here. This is how people are in this generation. People are very sensitive now. Do yall recall how Duke coachers did not want to shake HD hand after they beat Coack K at Duke. Then they did the same thing when their starters and assistant coaches did not shake Caleb Love, RJ Davis, etc hands after we beat them in the final four. This was all of the players except for Wendell Moore, a couple of players who sat on the bench, and Coach K who were the only ones to shake their hands. No body talked about this. Here are the videos:

Good Lord…. The embarrassment continues for the ACC. Tonight is the first of the ACC/SEC Challenge. Here are the final scores:
-OU over State in a defenseless games, 103-98 in OT. The Packs elite 4 scored 88 of their 98 points and took 76 of their 91 shots. State falls to 5-4 for the year.
-Vandy beat UVA 81-68
-UGA beat FSU 80-60
-UK beat Miami 64-48
-Texas A&M beat GT 72-63

The ACC is currently 0-5 in the Challenge. Need Stanford to beat Tennessee.

Oh and I forgot, our two wonderful bottom feeders that we purposely kept out of the challenge fell again tonight. Wake Forest lost to a 2-4 William and Mary team 67-64 tonight. Boston College got blown out by 3-3 Quinnipac 76-49 tonight. Great job guys!

I think they need to leave Wes alone. He is a very good coach. Every good coach is going to have a rough year at some point. Debo S. for Clemson in Football had a down year this year. Gino has had a down year. No coach is going to stay on top every year. State lost a lot last year. Those fans must understand that. The ACC for women is doing the same thing that the men did last year. As a conference, the ACC has lost a lot of great players from last year, some of it has to do with NIL, the transfer portal, WNBA, etc. I was very surprised how WF and BC lost to teams that are supposed to be inferior. The SEC is just better from top to bottom, and the challenge is showing this as far as the women teams are concerned. I just hope we can pull out a win at Texas tonight. Go Heels!

Louisville takes UofSC to the wire before losing by 2. Our home game during exams in 10 days is suddenly looking like a tough win and perhaps a key game in the ACC regular season race, plus a key shot at picking up our first Quad 1 win.

I will not call it a must-win game for a home court NCAA seed. Not in December. But if we lose it it will generate some must-win games later in the season.

I was thinking the same thing. 😬 Louisville has some dynamic players that can put the ball in the hoop. Jeff Walz has said shooting consistency is a problem which we’ve seen but sure feels like they’re working that out.

hope we can disrupt.
