This is what I don’t understand about PSU basketball. They arguably have played one of the toughest, if not the toughest, schedules in the country since the IU game, and have been very competitive against MSU, Michigan and Purdue. Based on that, you would think that they’d be able to start winning some games when the schedule eases a little, but that just never seems to happen.Broken nose in practice day before the Michigan game. Should be back soon.
Interesting that they played arguably their best two games of the season (vs. Michigan and at Purdue) without Mingo. Wonder if that implies anything about lineups and playing time after he returns.
I can maybe understand what he did if it’s against the team that doesn’t quite have as many good three-point shooters. But doubling those giants on the block did nothing, just play them straight up and give up a two attempt versus a wide open threeJust don’t understand Rhodes’ D system. Maybe as a change up. But non stop hedge high, the offense easily reversed the ball and had uncontested corner 3 every other possession. Constantly giving up the 3rd most efficient shot in the game. Unless you’re 10 deep, you’re just burning out your guys. Even in shorter college games. The guys are too gassed to close out after halftime.
No and Dilione is hurtIs Mingo good to go for tonight?
This is horrible. No and Dilione is hurt
It's a joke and always has been.Since I graduated over 50 years ago this program has made the NCAA Tournament a grand total of 5 times.

Donny marshall seemed to like Stewart, but I dont see it. he hits a couple shots then he goes for the heat check and takes a bad shot which always leads to a break the other way. I dont see practice so maybe he is knocking everythign down and playing D there as well as rebounding, but it surely doesnt happen much in the real games. This is horrible.
Ucla has twice as many rebounds including a 6-1 advantage on offensive rebounds that resulted in easy put backs. No blocking out.
PSU is 1-11 from 3 pt range. I bet Stewart makes them in practice but he has no confidence in games except during garbage time.
We're already without Mingo. Now Dillione is out with a sprained ankle. There's no offense without him. Ucla went on a 12-0 run once he went down.
I don’t see how PSU can compete without him.
On top of being perpetually outmanned almost every single season of Big 10 play, it seems as if this program also sustains key injuries every season that make a bad situation even worse, and it takes months for the injured players to return if they ever do. This is just beyond a hopeless situation.Beyond being young they are playing without a true point guard now. If Dilione is out for an extended period, that makes this situation even worse and he is not a PG.
I always watched some bball games going back to when l was a kid in the late 80's. This year l can t do it...l tried last night but when when they gave up 3 straight offensive rebounds l threw up the white flag..They are without a doubt one of the worst teams l ve ever seen.On top of being perpetually outmanned almost every single season of Big 10 play, it seems as if this program also sustains key injuries every season that make a bad situation even worse, and it takes months for the injured players to return if they ever do. It's absurd, unacceptable and embarrassing that the State University of a major state that has the overall best athletic program in its region has the two basketball teams that it does, and there is absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel. Both of these programs are as bad as they've ever been.I always watched some bball games going back to when l was a kid in the late 80's. It s an embarrassment to the university. I know of several people that have repeatedly emailed Pat Kraft. Zero response.
And the women s team.....
I have been a suffering fan since 1966-67 season. I watched it last night, but I don't know why.Since I graduated over 50 years ago this program has made the NCAA Tournament a grand total of 5 times.

this isn't even in the top five worst teams in that time frame. Jerry Dunns last couple and Ed Dechellis' first couple were way worse. Chambers 2nd year was worse too.I always watched some bball games going back to when l was a kid in the late 80's. Well, this team probably is going to lose every Big 10 game, so it will be a contender for the worst. Regardless of how close several of their games have been in recent weeks, this is a not a representative D-1 team, let alone a representative Big 10 team; this team would struggle to finish in the middle of the MAC.this isn't even in the top five worst teams in that time frame. Way too many times they let the shot clock get to single digits before making any attempt to get to the basket and on a bunch of those someone would drive with 4-5 seconds left and then pass, leaving someone to hoist a bad shot.
Juric should have had more touches down low.
I can think of a couple million ($$$) reasonsI still don’t see a reason for PSU to play basketball.

LOL my son sent me a text yesterday, almost word for word...After watching the last game, I almost wish we had someone named in the point shaving scandal just to have an excuse for the program sucking so bad. Not really, but almost. It is hard to see the light from the incoming train in the tunnel.
I think that we all know that Rhoades isn't the answer to even having a mediocre program. His tenure has been an unmitigated disaster; he has no gravitas at all.The seat has to be getting hot under Rhoades. We probably lose every game until Mingo returns and then we very well may continue to lose.
At this point it doesn't matter because we will finish with a horrendous record just a matter of how bad. Probably will finish around 1-19 in the B10 then lose the first Big Ten tournament game. I do think Rhoades survives but has to have a miraculous turnaround next season as in making the Dance or he has to be gone. If Mingo's brother signs then there is a shot. If not then he might as well be actively looking for a new job while coaching us next season.
Same here. Carver Clinton and Jeff Person.I have been a suffering fan since 1966-67 season. I watched it last night, but I don't know why.
The program has no gravitas thus we can't get a decent coach. If only we could pull off in basketball what Indiana and Cignetti have done.I think that we all know that Rhoades isn't the answer to even having a mediocre program. His tenure has been an unmitigated disaster; he has no gravitas at all.
